Good reasoning states the observations, compares live alternatives, and marks where philosophical judgment begins. A design argument must explain more than its rivals without ignoring counterevidence.
Intelligent design is best presented here as a proposed inference, not as a synonym for complexity or permission to stop investigating mechanisms. Its scientific status and explanatory power remain contested.
For an Orthodox Christian, creation’s intelligibility can be received within faith in the divine Logos while nature is studied on its own terms. God is not invoked to fill a temporary gap in knowledge; created causes and lawful processes remain worthy of careful investigation. Psalm 19:1 invites wonder without replacing research.
