Sleep Psalms

Psalm 4 — Lie Down in Peace

“I will both lie down in peace and sleep: for thou, Lord, only hast caused me to dwell securely.”Psalm 4:8

Reflection

Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness. You have put gladness in my heart. In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. Let these words settle over you like a blanket. You are safe because of who keeps you, not because the day was finished well.

A prayer

Lord, the worries that grew loud today grow quiet now in Your presence. You do not slumber or sleep, so I can. I rest in Your keeping. Amen.
