Hope When You're Discouraged

Day 3 · Hope When You're Discouraged

Strength for the Weary

“But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.”Isaiah 40:31

Reflection

Discouragement often comes with deep tiredness — of body, mind, and spirit. God does not scold the weary; He renews them. But notice the order: strength comes to those who wait on Him. Waiting is not doing nothing; it is leaning our whole weight on God rather than our own dwindling reserves. Sometimes faith looks like simply not giving up.

A prayer

Lord, I am tired in places I can hardly name. I have been running on my own strength, and it has run out. Teach me to wait on You — to stop striving and lean fully on Your power. Renew me, not always with soaring, but sometimes with the quieter grace to keep walking and not faint. I trust You to carry what I cannot. Amen.

Carry this with you

Where have you been running on your own strength, and how might you lean on God's instead?
