Peace with Your Past

Day 5 · Peace with Your Past

Pressing Forward

“...forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal...”Philippians 3:13-14

Reflection

Making peace with the past does not mean erasing the memory; it means no longer being held captive by it. Paul, who had a painful history, chose to keep stretching forward. With his past settled in God's hands, he could face the future. You are not your worst day. Forgiven and freed, you can stop staring backward and take the next step toward the life God still has for you.

A prayer

Father, thank You that I am not chained to my past. With it now in Your forgiving hands, help me to stop staring backward in regret and to stretch forward into the life You have for me. Where shame has kept me stuck, set me free to move. I press on, not because my past was perfect, but because Your grace is, and You go before me. Amen.

Carry this with you

With your past in God's hands, what is one step forward you can take today?
