Trusting God with Your Longings
“Also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this.”Psalm 37:4-5
Reflection
To delight in God first is not a trick to get what we want; it is where our desires are slowly reshaped and rightly ordered. We are invited to commit our way — including our hopes for relationship and the future — into God's hands, and to trust Him. He is a good Father who hears our longings, holds our future, and can be trusted with both.
A prayer
Father, I bring You my longings — including the ones I find hard to say. I commit my way to You: my hopes for love, for companionship, for the future I cannot see. Teach me to delight in You first, and to trust You with the rest. Reshape my desires where they need it, and help me rest in knowing my future is safe in Your hands. Amen.
