A Way of Escape
“No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.”1 Corinthians 10:13
Reflection
Temptation can feel uniquely overwhelming, as if no one has faced quite what we face. Yet Scripture gently corrects us: our struggles are common to humanity, and God is faithful in every one of them. He does not leave us trapped but always provides a way out, so that we are never tempted beyond what His grace can carry us through.
A prayer
Faithful God, thank You that I am never beyond Your help, and that no temptation can outmatch Your grace. When I feel cornered, open my eyes to the way of escape You have already provided. Give me the strength to take it, even when the easier path tempts me. I trust that You will hold me and help me endure. Amen.
