Day 5 · Trusting God with Money
Treasure That Lasts
“Don't lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth ... but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven ... For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”Matthew 6:19-21
Reflection
Jesus draws our eyes past the things that rust and fade to a wealth that lasts. He is not against planning or provision, but He warns that our hearts follow our treasure. What we invest in shapes what we love. To store up treasure in heaven is to spend our lives and resources on what endures — God, people, and His kingdom.
A prayer
Lord Jesus, You know how easily my heart attaches to things that cannot last. Lift my eyes to the treasure that endures. Help me to hold money loosely and to invest my life in what truly matters — knowing You, loving people, and serving Your kingdom. Where my treasure has been misplaced, gently move my heart to follow what is eternal. Amen.
Carry this with you
If your heart follows your treasure, what does where you spend reveal about what you love?
