Day 3 · Anger & Patience
When the Sun Goes Down
“Be angry, and don't sin. Don't let the sun go down on your wrath, and don't give place to the devil.”Ephesians 4:26-27
Reflection
These words draw a thoughtful distinction: anger itself is not the same as sin. The trouble comes when we nurse it, feed it, and let it settle in for the night. Letting go before the sun goes down means refusing to let resentment build a home in us, choosing instead to bring it to God before it hardens into bitterness.
A prayer
Heavenly Father, I confess that sometimes I hold onto anger long after the moment has passed, replaying the hurt again and again. Help me to release these grievances to you before they take root in my heart. Where I have given anger too much room, gently take it back. Let me rest tonight unburdened, trusting you with what I cannot fix. Amen.
Carry this with you
Is there a lingering resentment you have been carrying past its time that you could release to God today?
