Day 4 · Contentment & Provision
Casting Our Cares
“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time, casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.”1 Peter 5:6-7
Reflection
To cast our cares is an active thing; it is the daily, sometimes repeated, choice to hand our burdens over rather than clutch them tighter. Peter roots this not in our own strength but in a simple truth: He cares for you. We do not let go because our worries are small, but because the One who receives them is great and tender.
A prayer
Faithful God, I bring You the cares that feel too heavy for my hands. I lay down my worry about provision and my fear of the unknown, trusting that You receive them gently. Thank You that handing my burdens to You is not weakness but wisdom. Help me to humble myself under Your care and to leave with You what I was never meant to carry alone. Amen.
Carry this with you
What is one specific burden I can deliberately hand to God in prayer right now?
