Day 3 · Courage & Fear
A Spirit of Power, Not Fear
“For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.”2 Timothy 1:7
Reflection
Fear can speak loudly enough that we start to believe it is telling us the truth about who we are. Yet Paul reminds his friend Timothy that fear is not the gift God has placed within us. The Spirit at work in us is shaping something different altogether: a quiet strength, a patient love, and a settled, steady mind. We can listen to that gentler voice instead of the fearful one.
A prayer
Lord Jesus, when fear tries to define me, remind me of who I really am in You. Replace my timid heart with Your steady power, Your patient love, and Your calming peace. Help me to take the next small, faithful step instead of being frozen by what I cannot control. Thank You for the Spirit who lives in me and strengthens me from within. Amen.
Carry this with you
What is one loving or courageous step you could take today that fear has been holding you back from?
