The Peace Christ Gives
“Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Don't let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.”John 14:27
Reflection
Jesus offers a peace that does not rise and fall with our circumstances, the way the world's calm so often does. It is His own peace, given freely as a gift rather than earned by getting everything right. We receive it not by trying harder, but by trusting Him and letting our anxious hearts rest in His care. Even on a hard day, that peace is available to us.
A prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for the gift of Your peace, a peace deeper than anything the world can offer. When my heart is troubled and my thoughts race, quiet me with Your nearness. Help me to release my tight grip on what I cannot control and to trust that You are holding all of it. Let Your peace settle over me now and stay with me through this day. Amen.
