Discernment

Day 4 · Discernment

Learning to Do His Will

“Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness.”Psalm 143:10

Reflection

Discernment is less about uncovering a hidden answer and more about becoming the kind of person who loves and follows God's good will. As we ask His Spirit to shape our desires, the right path often grows clearer from the inside out. We can rest in knowing that His Spirit is good and gentle, leading us onto steady ground.

A prayer

Father, more than a quick answer, I want a heart that delights to do your will. Teach me what is good, and gently reshape the desires that pull me off course. By your good Spirit, lead me onto steady ground where I can walk with confidence in you. I trust your leading today. Amen.

Carry this with you

If you imagine following God's will in this matter, what hopes or fears rise up in you, and what might you bring to Him about them?
