Doubt & Faith

Day 2 · Doubt & Faith

God Can Hold Your Questions

“How long, Yahweh? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart every day? How long shall my enemy triumph over me?”Psalm 13:1-2

Reflection

The Psalms carry raw, unedited questions lifted up toward heaven, and God chose to keep them as Scripture. That tells us our own "How long?" and "Why?" are not threats to God but a true form of prayer. We can speak plainly to the One who already knows what is in our hearts.

A prayer

Father, thank You that Your Word makes room for honest lament and hard questions. I lay my own "how long" and "why" before You now, trusting that You are strong enough to hold them. Help me keep talking with You even when no answer has come. Teach me that staying in the conversation is itself a kind of faith. Amen.

Carry this with you

When you imagine voicing your hardest question to God, what do you fear, and what do you hope?
