You Belong to God
“But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God's children, to those who believe in his name.”John 1:12
Reflection
One of the first and most steadying truths to grasp is this: you belong to God. To everyone who receives Jesus, He gives the right to become a child of God. This is not something you earn by performance; it is a gift you receive. Whatever you feel on any given day, you are God's own child, welcomed into His family, and His mercy is there for you every day you turn back to Him.
A prayer
Father, thank You that I am Your child — not because I have earned it, but because You have welcomed me through Jesus. Help me to rest in belonging to You, whatever I feel on a given day. When doubts come, remind me that I am Yours, and that Your mercy is there each time I turn back to You. Teach me to live as Your beloved child. Amen.
