One Day at a Time
“It is because of Yahweh's loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his mercies don't fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness.”Lamentations 3:22-23
Reflection
God's mercy is not a limited supply we exhaust by failing too many times; it is renewed fresh with each new morning. We do not have to carry the whole road at once, only the day in front of us. Whatever yesterday held, today arrives with new mercy, and so will tomorrow.
A prayer
Lord, thank you that your mercies are new every single morning and never run dry. I give you this one day, not the whole road ahead, and I ask for the grace I need just for today. When I am tempted to despair over the past, remind me that your faithfulness meets me again each dawn. Help me to trust you for today, and to leave tomorrow in your hands. Amen.
