Day 4 · Freedom & Recovery
Strength Made Perfect in Weakness
“He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me.”2 Corinthians 12:9
Reflection
We often imagine we must become strong enough on our own before God will help us. Yet Paul learned that God's power shows up most clearly in the places where we are weak. Admitting that you cannot do this in your own strength is not failure; it is the doorway through which the grace of Christ comes to rest on you.
A prayer
Jesus, I confess that I am not strong enough to overcome this on my own, and I stop pretending otherwise. Your word says your grace is enough for me and your power is made perfect in weakness, so I bring you my weakness honestly. Let your strength carry me where mine gives out. Thank you that depending on you is not shameful but wise. Amen.
Carry this with you
Where are you trying to be strong on your own, and how might you invite God's strength into that place instead?
