Day 1 · Healing & Sickness
Bringing the Truth to God
“Have mercy on me, Yahweh, for I am faint. Yahweh, heal me, for my bones are troubled. My soul is also in great anguish. But you, Yahweh—how long?”Psalm 6:2-3
Reflection
Illness can leave us aching in body and unsettled in soul, and we often feel we must cover that ache with brave words. Yet Scripture shows us another way: David tells God plainly how faint and frightened he feels, and even dares to ask, "How long?" Honesty is not a failure of faith; it is the doorway into real prayer, because God meets us where we truly are, not where we pretend to be.
A prayer
Lord, I come to You just as I am, weary and unsure, and I will not pretend to be stronger than I feel. You see my troubled body and my anxious heart, and You are not turned away by my weakness. Have mercy on me, and meet me in this honest place. Teach me that bringing You the truth is itself an act of trust. Amen.
