Day 4 · Healing & Sickness
Grace Enough in Weakness
“He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me.”2 Corinthians 12:9
Reflection
Paul prayed earnestly for his own suffering to be taken away, and God's answer was not the relief he hoped for but a promise of sufficient grace. This does not mean God dismisses our longing for healing, which is a good and right prayer to keep praying. It means that even on the days the body does not mend, His grace is enough to carry us, and His strength meets us most fully where we are weakest.
A prayer
Jesus, I still ask You for healing, and I trust You with that prayer. Yet on the days when the answer seems delayed, let Your grace be enough for me, hour by hour. Make Your strength known in the very places where I feel most weak and helpless. Let Your power rest on me, and help me to lean wholly on You. Amen.
Carry this with you
How might God's grace be meeting you today, even in a place that has not been healed?
