Near to the Brokenhearted
“Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.”Psalm 34:18
Reflection
When we are discouraged, God can feel distant — but Scripture tells us the opposite is true. He does not wait for us to recover before drawing close; He is especially near to the broken and the crushed. Your low place is not where God leaves you; it is where He draws nearest. You do not have to climb up to Him. He has already come down to you.
A prayer
Father, when I feel most alone, remind me that You are near — not at a distance, but close to my broken heart. I may not feel You, but I trust Your promise that You are here. Sit with me in this low place. Hold what feels crushed within me. Let me rest in the truth that I am not abandoned, but gently kept by You. Amen.
