Day 2 · Joy That Lasts
Fullness of Joy in His Presence
“You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forever more.”Psalm 16:11
Reflection
We chase joy in a hundred smaller things, and they leave us thirsty again. The psalmist locates real joy in one place: God's presence. Not in better circumstances, but in nearness to Him. This is good news, because it means joy is always within reach — not when life finally improves, but whenever we turn toward the God who is already with us.
A prayer
Father, I confess how often I look for joy in things that cannot hold it — in comfort, approval, or the next good thing. Draw me back to the one place where joy is full: Your presence. Teach me to find my deepest gladness simply in being near You. Show me the path of life, and let me walk it close to Your side. Amen.
