Loneliness

Day 4 · Loneliness

A Companion Who Understands

“For we don't have a high priest who can't be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin.”Hebrews 4:15

Reflection

In Jesus, God did not keep a safe distance from human suffering; he entered into it fully. Christ knew rejection, the failing of friends, and the loneliness of the cross, so he understands your loneliness from the inside. You are not praying to a stranger but to a Savior who has walked through what you are feeling.

A prayer

Lord Jesus, thank you that you are not a distant God but one who has known loneliness, rejection, and sorrow yourself. When I feel that no one could possibly understand, remind me that you truly do. Be my companion in the hours that feel empty, and let me sense your understanding presence beside me. I am grateful that I can come to you honestly, with nothing hidden. Amen.

Carry this with you

How does it change the way you pray to know that Jesus understands loneliness from the inside?
