Praying for Those You Love

Day 4 · Praying for Those You Love

Letting Love Speak

“We love him, because he first loved us.”1 John 4:19

Reflection

We do not argue people into the arms of God; far more often, they are drawn by a love they can see and feel. Our calling is not to win a debate but to keep loving well, trusting that our love can become a small window through which God's greater love shines. Today we ask God to make our love patient, steady, and free of pressure, so that the one we love feels welcomed rather than cornered.

A prayer

Father, You loved us first, before we ever turned toward You, and that is the love I long to reflect. Make my love for this person steady and kind, free from pressure, judgment, or any wish to control. Let them sense Your warmth through my patience and my care, and keep me from striving in my own strength. May my life quietly point them toward home in You. Amen.

Carry this with you

How can you show your loved one steady, unconditional love this week, without any hint of pressure?
