Protect and Guide Them
“Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more.”Psalm 121:7-8
Reflection
Few things are harder than knowing we cannot be with our children every moment, nor shield them from every harm. This psalm steadies us: the God who never sleeps watches over them when we cannot. We pray for their protection and their wisdom, and we rest in the One whose care reaches every place they go, long after they leave our sight.
A prayer
Watchful God, You see my children in every place I cannot follow. Keep them from harm, in body and in soul. Guard their steps as they go out and come in. Give them wisdom to choose what is good and courage to turn from what is not. When I cannot be there, let me rest in knowing that You always are. Amen.
