Day 1 · Rest for the Weary
Come to Me
“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.”Matthew 11:28
Reflection
Jesus does not begin with a command but an invitation — and He addresses it precisely to the tired. Notice He does not say, first fix yourself, then come. He welcomes us as we are, weary and weighed down, and offers rest as a gift He gives, not a reward we earn. The first step toward rest is simply turning toward Him.
A prayer
Lord Jesus, I am tired, and I come just as I am. I bring the weight I have been carrying — the tasks, the worries, the weariness I can hardly put into words. Thank You that You welcome me without first requiring me to have it all together. I accept Your invitation. Give me the rest that only You can give. Amen.
Carry this with you
What is the burden you would most like to bring to Jesus today, exactly as you are?
