Singleness & Trust

Day 3 · Singleness & Trust

When Loneliness Comes

“Turn to me, and have mercy on me, for I am desolate and afflicted.”Psalm 25:16

Reflection

Singleness can carry real loneliness, and it helps no one to pretend otherwise. The psalmists bring their loneliness straight to God, without shame. He does not scold the lonely; He draws near to them. Loneliness, brought honestly to God, can become a doorway to a deeper companionship with Him — the one relationship that never leaves.

A prayer

Father, I will be honest with You: there are times the loneliness is heavy. I bring it to You now, without pretending. Thank You that You do not turn away from my ache but draw near to it. Be my companion in the quiet hours. Let me know Your nearness, the friendship that never fails, and fill the lonely places with Your presence. Amen.

Carry this with you

Can you bring your loneliness honestly to God, and let it draw you closer to Him?

Day 4: Contentment, Not Resignation
