Day 3 · Spiritual Warfare
Resisting in Humility
“Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”James 4:7
Reflection
Resistance and surrender belong together in the same breath. We resist the enemy not by clenching our fists but by first submitting ourselves to God, placing ourselves under His care and authority. When our hearts are anchored in humble trust, temptation loses its grip, and the promise stands: the enemy flees from a soul that belongs wholly to God.
A prayer
Lord, I submit myself again to You this day, holding nothing back. Where I have been proud or self-reliant, soften my heart and draw me into humble dependence on You. Give me the courage to resist what would pull me away from You, trusting Your promise that the enemy must flee. Keep me close, that my resistance may always flow from Your grace and not my own pride. Amen.
Carry this with you
Is there an area where surrendering to God first would make resisting temptation easier?
