Day 4 · The Beatitudes
Hunger for Righteousness
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled.”Matthew 5:6
Reflection
There is a blessing for holy hunger — for those who long to be made right, to see righteousness fill their lives and their world. Jesus promises such longing will not go unanswered: they shall be filled. Our spiritual appetites matter; what we hunger for shapes us. To want God's goodness deeply is itself a gift, and one He delights to satisfy.
A prayer
Lord, examine my appetites. So often I hunger for lesser things and feel little hunger for righteousness. Stir in me a deeper longing — to be made right, to see Your goodness grow in me and around me. Thank You for the promise that this hunger will be filled. Feed my soul on You, and satisfy the longing only You can meet. Amen.

What do you most hunger for — and could you ask God to deepen your hunger for righteousness?
