The Peacemakers
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.”Matthew 5:9
Reflection
Peacemakers do more than avoid conflict; they actively work to mend what is broken — between people, and between people and God. In doing so, they reflect their Father, the great Peacemaker who reconciled us to Himself in Christ. To make peace is costly and Christlike work. Those who do it, Jesus says, are recognized as God's own children.
A prayer
Father, You are the God of peace, who reconciled me to Yourself at great cost. Make me a peacemaker — not one who merely avoids conflict, but one who helps mend what is broken. Show me where I can bring peace today, in my relationships and beyond. Give me the courage and humility this costly work requires, that I might reflect You. Amen.
