Day 3 · Praying the Lord's Prayer
Your Will Be Done
“Let your will be done, as in heaven, so on earth.”Matthew 6:10
Reflection
This may be the hardest line to pray honestly, because it asks us to want what God wants more than what we want. In heaven, God's will is done gladly and fully; we ask that the same become true on earth — and in us. It is the prayer Jesus Himself prayed in the garden: not my will, but Yours. Surrender here is not defeat; it is trust.
A prayer
Father, You see the things I am gripping tightly — my plans, my worries, the outcomes I am afraid to release. Teach me to pray as Jesus did: not my will, but Yours be done. I trust that Your will for me is good, even when I cannot yet see it. Make my heart willing, and give me peace as I lay my wants in Your hands. Amen.
Carry this with you
What is one thing you are holding tightly that you could begin to entrust to God's good will?
