Day 3 · Trusting God with Money
Enough
“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we certainly can't carry anything out. But having food and clothing, we will be content with these.”1 Timothy 6:6-8
Reflection
Our culture insists we never have enough. Scripture offers a quiet rebellion: contentment. It is not the same as having much, but the freedom to be at peace with what we have. We came with nothing and will leave with nothing; everything in between is gift. Contentment unhooks our hearts from the endless chase and roots them in God Himself.
A prayer
Lord, so much around me insists I need more to be happy. Teach me the great gain of contentment. Help me to receive what I have as a gift from Your hand, and to find my deepest security in You rather than in more. Free me from the restless chase, and let godliness with contentment be the wealth I pursue. Amen.
Carry this with you
What would it look like to call what you have today 'enough'?
