Day 2 · Waiting on God
God's Goodness in the Delay
“Yahweh is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. It is good that a man should hope and quietly wait for the salvation of Yahweh.”Lamentations 3:25-26
Reflection
These words were written in the rubble of deep loss, and still they dare to call God good. Waiting does not mean God has forgotten you or that his goodness has run out; it often means his goodness is at work in ways you cannot yet see. There is a quiet kind of hope that does not demand answers on its own timetable but keeps seeking the One who is faithful. That quietness is not passive; it is trust learning to breathe.
A prayer
Father, when the delay tempts me to doubt your kindness, remind me that you are good to those who wait for you. Help me to seek you more than I seek the answer I am hoping for. Quiet the restlessness in me, and grow a settled, hopeful patience where there has been striving. I trust that your goodness has not paused, even now. Amen.
Carry this with you
Where might God's goodness be quietly at work in your life, even in the part that still feels unanswered?
