Day 3 · Waiting on God
Strength for the Long Wait
“but those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.”Isaiah 40:31
Reflection
Long waits are tiring, and it is no weakness to admit you feel worn down. Isaiah promises that the strength we need is not something we manufacture but something God renews in those who wait on him. Notice that the promise includes both soaring and simply walking on, because some seasons call for endurance more than wings. God meets you with exactly the strength the day requires.
A prayer
Lord, I am tired in this waiting, and my own strength has nearly run out. Renew me as you have promised, so that I can keep walking forward without fainting. On the days I cannot soar, give me grace simply to take the next faithful step. I lean my weariness on you, and I trust you to carry what I cannot. Amen.
Carry this with you
What would it look like to receive God's strength for today rather than trying to carry the whole future at once?
