Work & Vocation

Day 2 · Work & Vocation

Working as Unto the Lord

“And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.”Colossians 3:23-24

Reflection

So much of our work can feel invisible, measured only by what others happen to notice or reward. Yet Scripture lifts our eyes higher, reminding us that the One who truly sees our labor is the Lord Himself. When we offer our work to Christ, even the smallest and most unseen task is gathered up into something sacred.

A prayer

Lord Jesus, You see the work that no one else notices and the effort no one else applauds. Help me today to labor wholeheartedly, not to impress people but as an offering to You. Free me from the constant need for approval, and let my work become a quiet act of worship. I trust You to receive what I bring, however ordinary it may seem. Amen.

Carry this with you

How might my attitude change if I pictured Christ, rather than my employer or critics, as the One I am working for today?

Day 3: When Work Feels Like Toil
