Let It Be to Me
“Mary said, "Behold, the servant of the Lord; let it be done to me according to your word." The angel departed from her.”Luke 1:38
Reflection
When God's promise drew near, Mary answered with humble, trusting surrender: let it be to me according to your word. Advent sets her before us as an example of an open heart that says yes to God even when the road ahead is unclear. We too are invited to make room for Christ to be born and to grow in our lives.
A prayer
Lord, give me the trusting heart of Mary, who welcomed your word even without knowing all that lay ahead. I offer you my plans, my fears, and my hopes this season. Let it be to me according to your word; work in me whatever you desire. Help me to say yes to you with quiet courage. Amen.
