BBE Bible in Basic English WEB World English Bible (Classic, with Deuterocanon) 1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were gone; and there was no more sea.
1 I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth have passed away, and the sea is no more.
2 And I saw the holy town, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, like a bride made beautiful for her husband.
2 I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And there came to my ears a great voice out of the high seat, saying, See, the Tent of God is with men, and he will make his living-place with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them, and be their God. 3 Y oí una gran voz del cielo que decía: He aquí el tabernáculo de Dios con los hombres, y morará con ellos; y ellos serán su pueblo, y el mismo Dios será su Dios con ellos.
3 I heard a loud voice out of heaven saying, “Behold, God’s dwelling is with people; and he will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.
4 And he will put an end to all their weeping; and there will be no more death, or sorrow, or crying, or pain; for the first things have come to an end.
4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain any more. The first things have passed away.”
5 And he who is seated on the high seat said, See, I make all things new. And he said, Put it in the book; for these words are certain and true.
5 He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” He said, “Write, for these words of God are faithful and true.”
6 And he said to me, It is done. I am the First and the Last, the start and the end. I will freely give of the fountain of the water of life to him who is in need.
6 He said to me, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give freely to him who is thirsty from the spring of the water of life.
7 He who overcomes will have these things for his heritage; and I will be his God, and he will be my son.
7 He who overcomes, I will give him these things. I will be his God, and he will be my son.
8 But those who are full of fear and without faith, the unclean and takers of life, those who do the sins of the flesh, and those who make use of evil powers or who give worship to images, and all those who are false, will have their part in the sea of ever-burning fire which is the second death.
8 But for the cowardly, unbelieving, sinners, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their part is in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”
9 And one of the seven angels who had the seven vessels in which were the seven last punishments, came and said to me, Come here, and see the bride, the Lamb's wife.
9 One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls which were loaded with the seven last plagues came, and he spoke with me, saying, “Come here. I will show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.”
10 And he took me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and let me see the holy town Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, 10 Y llevóme en Espíritu á un grande y alto monte, y me mostró la grande ciudad santa de Jerusalem, que descendía del cielo de Dios,
10 He carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,
11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like a stone of great price, a jasper stone, clear as glass: 11 Teniendo la claridad de Dios: y su luz era semejante á una piedra preciosísima, como piedra de jaspe, resplandeciente como cristal.
11 having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
12 She had a wall great and high, with twelve doors, and at the doors twelve angels; and names on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel.
12 having a great and high wall with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel.
13 And on the east were three doors; and on the north three doors; and on the south three doors; and on the west three doors. 13 Al oriente tres puertas; al norte tres puertas; al mediodía tres puertas; al poniente tres puertas.
13 On the east were three gates, and on the north three gates, and on the south three gates, and on the west three gates.
14 And the wall of the town had twelve bases, and on them the twelve names of the twelve Apostles of the Lamb.
14 The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them twelve names of the twelve Apostles of the Lamb.
15 And he who was talking with me had a gold measuring-rod to take the measure of the town, and of its doors, and its wall.
15 He who spoke with me had for a measure a golden reed to measure the city, its gates, and its walls.
16 And the town is square, as wide as it is long; and he took the measure of the town with the rod, one thousand and five hundred miles: it is equally long and wide and high.
16 The city is square. Its length is as great as its width. He measured the city with the reed: twelve thousand twelve stadia. Its length, width, and height are equal.
17 And he took the measure of its wall, one hundred and forty-four cubits, after the measure of a man, that is, of an angel.
17 Its wall is one hundred forty-four cubits, by the measure of a man, that is, of an angel.
18 And the building of its wall was of jasper, and the town was clear gold, clear as glass.
18 The construction of its wall was jasper. The city was pure gold, like pure glass.
19 The bases of the wall of the town had ornaments of all sorts of beautiful stones. The first base was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald; 19 Y los fundamentos del muro de la ciudad estaban adornados de toda piedra preciosa. El primer fundamento era jaspe; el segundo, zafiro; el tercero, calcedonia; el cuarto, esmeralda;
19 The foundations of the city’s wall were adorned with all kinds of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald,
20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, jacinth; the twelfth, amethyst. 20 El quinto, sardónica; el sexto, sardio; el séptimo, crisólito; el octavo, berilo; el nono, topacio; el décimo, crisopraso; el undécimo, jacinto; el duodécimo, amatista.
20 the fifth sardonyx, the sixth sardius, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.
21 And the twelve doors were twelve pearls; every door was made of one pearl; and the street of the town was clear gold, as clear as glass.
21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls. Each one of the gates was made of one pearl. The street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.
22 And I saw no Temple there; because the Lord God, the Ruler of all, and the Lamb are its Temple.
22 I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.
23 And the town has no need of the sun, or of the moon, to give it light: for the glory of God did make it light, and the light of it is the Lamb.
23 The city has no need for the sun or moon to shine, for the very glory of God illuminated it and its lamp is the Lamb.
24 And the nations will go in its light: and the kings of the earth will take their glory into it. 24 Y las naciones que hubieren sido salvas andarán en la lumbre de ella: y los reyes de la tierra traerán su gloria y honor á ella.
24 The nations will walk in its light. The kings of the earth bring the glory and honor of the nations into it.
25 And the doors of it will never be shut by day (for there is no night there): 25 Y sus puertas nunca serán cerradas de día, porque allí no habrá noche.
25 Its gates will in no way be shut by day (for there will be no night there),
26 And the glory and honour of the nations will come into it: 26 Y llevarán la gloria y la honra de las naciones á ella.
26 and they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it so that they may enter.
27 And nothing unclean may come into it, or anyone whose works are cursed or false; but only those whose names are in the Lamb's book of life.
27 There will in no way enter into it anything profane, or one who causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
