WEB World English Bible (Classic, with Deuterocanon) 1 And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, 1 Y JEHOVÁ habló á Moisés, diciendo:
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
2 Avenge the children of Israel upon the Midianites; afterwards shalt thou be gathered unto thy peoples.
2 “Avenge the children of Israel on the Midianites. Afterward you shall be gathered to your people.”
3 And Moses spoke to the people, saying, Arm from amongst you men for military service, that they go against Midian to execute Jehovah's vengeance upon Midian.
3 Moses spoke to the people, saying, “Arm men from among you for war, that they may go against Midian, to execute Yahweh’s vengeance on Midian.
4 Of every tribe a thousand, of all the tribes of Israel, shall ye send to the war.
4 You shall send one thousand out of every tribe, throughout all the tribes of Israel, to the war.”
5 And there were levied out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand by tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.
5 So there were delivered, out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand from every tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.
6 And Moses sent them to the war, a thousand by the tribe, them and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, and the holy instruments, even the alarm-trumpets in his hand.
6 Moses sent them, one thousand of every tribe, to the war with Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the vessels of the sanctuary and the trumpets for the alarm in his hand.
7 And they warred against Midian, as Jehovah had commanded Moses, and slew all the males.
7 They fought against Midian, as Yahweh commanded Moses. They killed every male.
8 And they slew the kings of Midian, besides the others slain, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian; and Balaam the son of Beor they slew with the sword.
8 They killed the kings of Midian with the rest of their slain: Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba, the five kings of Midian. They also killed Balaam the son of Beor with the sword.
9 And the children of Israel took the women of Midian captives, and their little ones, and took for a spoil all their cattle and all their flocks and all their goods; 9 Y llevaron cautivas los hijos de Israel las mujeres de los Madianitas, y sus chiquitos y todas sus bestias, y todos sus ganados; y arrebataron toda su hacienda.
9 The children of Israel took the women of Midian captive with their little ones; and all their livestock, all their flocks, and all their goods, they took as plunder.
10 and all their cities in their settlements and all their encampments they burned with fire.
10 All their cities in the places in which they lived, and all their encampments, they burned with fire.
11 And they took all the booty, and all the prey, of man and of cattle; 11 Y tomaron todo el despojo, y toda la presa, así de hombres como de bestias.
11 They took all the captives, and all the plunder, both of man and of animal.
12 and they brought to Moses and Eleazar the priest, and to the assembly of the children of Israel, the captives and the prey and the booty, to the camp in the plains of Moab, which are by the Jordan of Jericho.
12 They brought the captives with the prey and the plunder, to Moses, and to Eleazar the priest, and to the congregation of the children of Israel, to the camp at the plains of Moab, which are by the Jordan at Jericho.
13 And Moses and Eleazar the priest and all the princes of the assembly went forth to meet them outside the camp.
13 Moses and Eleazar the priest, with all the princes of the congregation, went out to meet them outside of the camp.
14 And Moses was wroth with the officers of the army, with the captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, who came from the service of the war; 14 Y enojóse Moisés contra los capitanes del ejército, [contra] los tribunos y centuriones que volvían de la guerra;
14 Moses was angry with the officers of the army, the captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds, who came from the service of the war.
15 and Moses said to them, Have ye saved all the women alive? 15 Y díjoles Moisés: ¿Todas las mujeres habéis reservado?
15 Moses said to them, “Have you saved all the women alive?
16 Lo, these, through the counsel of Balaam, caused the children of Israel to commit sin against Jehovah in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague on the assembly of Jehovah.
16 Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against Yahweh in the matter of Peor, and so the plague was among the congregation of Yahweh.
17 And now slay every male among the little ones, and slay every woman that hath known man by lying with him, 17 Matad pues ahora todos los varones entre los niños: matad también toda mujer que haya conocido varón carnalmente.
17 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man by lying with him.
18 but all the children among the women that have not known lying with a man, keep alive for yourselves.
18 But all the girls, who have not known man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.
19 And encamp outside the camp seven days; whoever hath killed a person, and whoever hath touched any slain; ye shall purify yourselves on the third day, and on the seventh day, you and your captives.
19 “Encamp outside of the camp for seven days. Whoever has killed any person, and whoever has touched any slain, purify yourselves on the third day and on the seventh day, you and your captives.
20 And every garment, and every vessel of skin, and all work of goat's hair, and every utensil of wood shall ye purify.
20 You shall purify every garment, and all that is made of skin, and all work of goats’ hair, and all things made of wood.”
21 And Eleazar the priest said to the men of war that had gone to the battle, This is the statute of the law which Jehovah hath commanded Moses.
21 Eleazar the priest said to the men of war who went to the battle, “This is the statute of the law which Yahweh has commanded Moses.
22 Only the gold, and the silver, the copper, the iron, the tin, and the lead, 22 Ciertamente el oro, y la plata, metal, hierro, estaño, y plomo,
22 However the gold, and the silver, the bronze, the iron, the tin, and the lead,
23 everything that passeth through the fire, ye shall make it go through the fire, and it shall be clean; only it shall be purified with the water of separation; and everything that cannot pass through the fire ye shall make go through the water.
23 everything that may withstand the fire, you shall make to go through the fire, and it shall be clean; nevertheless it shall be purified with the water for impurity. All that doesn’t withstand the fire you shall make to go through the water.
24 And ye shall wash your garments on the seventh day, and ye shall be clean; and afterwards ye may come into the camp.
24 You shall wash your clothes on the seventh day, and you shall be clean. Afterward you shall come into the camp.”
25 And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, 25 Y Jehová habló á Moisés, diciendo:
25 Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
26 Take the sum of the prey that was taken, of man and of cattle, thou, and Eleazar the priest, and the chief fathers of the assembly; 26 Toma la cuenta de la presa que se ha hecho, así de las personas como de las bestias, tú y el sacerdote Eleazar, y las cabezas de los padres de la congregación:
26 “Count the plunder that was taken, both of man and of animal, you, and Eleazar the priest, and the heads of the fathers’ households of the congregation;
27 and divide the prey into halves, between them that conducted the war, who went out to the battle, and the whole assembly.
27 and divide the plunder into two parts: between the men skilled in war, who went out to battle, and all the congregation.
28 And thou shalt levy a tribute for Jehovah of the men of war who went out to the army, one soul of five hundred of the persons, and of the oxen, and of the asses, and of the small cattle.
28 Levy a tribute to Yahweh of the men of war who went out to battle: one soul of five hundred; of the persons, of the cattle, of the donkeys, and of the flocks.
29 Of their half shall ye take it, and give it unto Eleazar the priest, for a heave-offering of Jehovah.
29 Take it from their half, and give it to Eleazar the priest, for Yahweh’s wave offering.
30 And of the children of Israel's half, thou shalt take one portion of fifty, of the persons, of the oxen, of the asses, and of the small cattle, of every [kind of] beasts, and thou shalt give them unto the Levites, who keep the charge of the tabernacle of Jehovah.
30 Of the children of Israel’s half, you shall take one drawn out of every fifty, of the persons, of the cattle, of the donkeys, and of the flocks, of all the livestock, and give them to the Levites, who perform the duty of Yahweh’s tabernacle.”
31 And Moses and Eleazar the priest did as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
31 Moses and Eleazar the priest did as Yahweh commanded Moses.
32 And the prey, the rest of the spoil, which the men of war had taken, was six hundred and seventy-five thousand sheep, 32 Y fué la presa, el resto de la presa que tomaron los hombres de guerra, seiscientas y setenta y cinco mil ovejas,
32 Now the plunder, over and above the booty which the men of war took, was six hundred seventy-five thousand sheep,
33 and seventy-two thousand oxen, 33 Y setenta y dos mil bueyes,
33 seventy-two thousand head of cattle,
34 and sixty-one thousand asses, 34 Y setenta y un mil asnos;
34 sixty-one thousand donkeys,
35 and of human persons, of the women that had not known lying with a man, all the persons were thirty-two thousand.
35 and thirty-two thousand persons in all, of the women who had not known man by lying with him.
36 And the half, the portion of them that had gone out to the war, was in number three hundred and thirty-seven thousand five hundred sheep, 36 Y la mitad, la parte de los que habían salido á la guerra, fué el número de trescientas treinta y siete mil y quinientas ovejas.
36 The half, which was the portion of those who went out to war, was in number three hundred thirty-seven thousand five hundred sheep;
37 and the tribute for Jehovah of the sheep was six hundred and seventy-five; 37 Y el tributo para Jehová de las ovejas, fué seiscientas setenta y cinco.
37 and Yahweh’s tribute of the sheep was six hundred seventy-five.
38 and the oxen were thirty-six thousand, and the tribute thereof for Jehovah, seventy-two; 38 Y de los bueyes, treinta y seis mil: y de ellos el tributo para Jehová, setenta y dos.
38 The cattle were thirty-six thousand, of which Yahweh’s tribute was seventy-two.
39 and the asses were thirty thousand five hundred, and the tribute thereof for Jehovah, sixty-one; 39 Y de los asnos, treinta mil y quinientos: y de ellos el tributo para Jehová, setenta y uno.
39 The donkeys were thirty thousand five hundred, of which Yahweh’s tribute was sixty-one.
40 and the human persons were sixteen thousand, of whom the tribute for Jehovah was thirty-two persons.
40 The persons were sixteen thousand, of whom Yahweh’s tribute was thirty-two persons.
41 And Moses gave the tribute of Jehovah's heave-offering to Eleazar the priest, as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
41 Moses gave the tribute, which was Yahweh’s wave offering, to Eleazar the priest, as Yahweh commanded Moses.
42 And of the children of Israel's half, which Moses had divided, [taking it] from the men that served in the war, 42 Y de la mitad para los hijos de Israel, que apartó Moisés de los hombres que habían ido á la guerra;
42 Of the children of Israel’s half, which Moses divided off from the men who fought
43 (now the half belonging to the assembly was of the sheep, three hundred and thirty-seven thousand five hundred, 43 (La mitad para la congregación fué: de las ovejas, trescientas treinta y siete mil y quinientas;
43 (now the congregation’s half was three hundred thirty-seven thousand five hundred sheep,
44 and thirty-six thousand oxen, 44 Y de los bueyes, treinta y seis mil;
44 thirty-six thousand head of cattle,
45 and thirty thousand five hundred asses, 45 Y de los asnos, treinta mil y quinientos;
45 thirty thousand five hundred donkeys,
46 and sixteen thousand persons),
47 ...of the children of Israel's half, Moses took one portion of fifty, of man and of cattle, and gave them to the Levites who kept the charge of the tabernacle of Jehovah; as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
47 even of the children of Israel’s half, Moses took one drawn out of every fifty, both of man and of animal, and gave them to the Levites, who performed the duty of Yahweh’s tabernacle, as Yahweh commanded Moses.
48 And the officers who were over the thousands of the host, the captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, came near to Moses, 48 Y llegaron á Moisés los jefes de los millares de aquel ejército, los tribunos y centuriones;
48 The officers who were over the thousands of the army, the captains of thousands, and the captains of hundreds, came near to Moses.
49 and they said to Moses, Thy servants have taken the sum of the men of war who were under our hand, and there is not one man of us lacking.
49 They said to Moses, “Your servants have taken the sum of the men of war who are under our command, and there lacks not one man of us.
50 So we present the offering of Jehovah, that which each one hath found, jewels of gold, chains, and bracelets, rings, earrings, and necklaces, to make atonement for our souls before Jehovah.
50 We have brought Yahweh’s offering, what every man found: gold ornaments, armlets, bracelets, signet rings, earrings, and necklaces, to make atonement for our souls before Yahweh.”
51 And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of them, all manner of wrought jewels.
51 Moses and Eleazar the priest took their gold, even all worked jewels.
52 And all the gold of the heave-offering that they offered to Jehovah was sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels, from the captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds.
52 All the gold of the wave offering that they offered up to Yahweh, of the captains of thousands, and of the captains of hundreds, was sixteen thousand seven hundred fifty shekels.
53 (The men of war had taken spoil each one for himself.) 53 Los hombres del ejército habían pillado cada uno para sí.
53 The men of war had taken booty, every man for himself.
54 And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the tent of meeting, as a memorial for the children of Israel before Jehovah.
54 Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the Tent of Meeting for a memorial for the children of Israel before Yahweh.
