1 Después que Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, deportó desde Jerusalén a Jeconías, hijo de Joacim, rey de Judá, y a los magistrados de Judá con los artesanos y los herreros, y los llevó a Babilonia, Yavé me mostró dos cestas de higos puestas delante de la Casa de Yavé.
1 MOSTRÓME Jehová, y he aquí dos cestas de higos puestas delante del templo de Jehová, después de haber trasportado Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia á Jechônías hijo de Joacim, rey de Judá, y á los príncipes de Judá, y á los oficiales y herreros de Jerusalem, y haberlos llevado á Babilonia.
1 Yahweh showed me, and behold, two baskets of figs were set before Yahweh’s temple, after Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and the princes of Judah, with the craftsmen and smiths, from Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon.
2 Una cesta tenía higos muy buenos, como brevas, y la otra cesta tenía higos tan malos que no se podían comer.
2 La una cesta tenía higos muy buenos, como brevas; y la otra cesta tenía higos muy malos, que no se podían comer de malos.
2 One basket had very good figs, like the figs that are first-ripe; and the other basket had very bad figs, which could not be eaten, they were so bad.
3 Yavé me preguntó: ¿Qué ves, Jeremías? Y respondí: Higos, higos buenos, muy buenos, y otros tan malos que no se pueden comer.
3 Y díjome Jehová: ¿Qué ves tú, Jeremías? Y dije: Higos, higos buenos, muy buenos; y malos, muy malos, que de malos no se pueden comer.
3 Then Yahweh asked me, “What do you see, Jeremiah?” I said, “Figs. The good figs are very good, and the bad are very bad, so bad that they can’t be eaten.”
4 La Palabra de Yavé vino a mí:
4 Y fué á mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:
4 Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,
5 Yavé ʼElohim de Israel dice: Como a estos higos buenos, consideraré para bien a los cautivos de Judá, a quienes eché desde este lugar a la tierra de los caldeos.
5 Así ha dicho Jehová Dios de Israel: Como á estos buenos higos, así conoceré la trasportación de Judá al cual eché de este lugar á tierra de Caldeos, para bien.
5 “Yahweh, the God of Israel says: ‘Like these good figs, so I will regard the captives of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans, as good.
6 Pues fijaré mis ojos sobre ellos para bien y los devolveré a esta tierra. Los edificaré y no los derribaré, los plantaré y no los arrancaré.
6 Porque pondré mis ojos sobre ellos para bien, y volverélos á esta tierra; y los edificaré, y no los destruiré: plantarélos, y no los arrancaré.
6 For I will set my eyes on them for good, and I will bring them again to this land. I will build them, and not pull them down. I will plant them, and not pluck them up.
7 Les daré un corazón para que me conozcan que Yo soy Yavé. Ellos serán mi pueblo y Yo seré su ʼElohim, porque regresarán a Mí con todo su corazón.
7 Y les daré corazón para que me conozcan, que yo soy Jehová: y me serán por pueblo, y yo les seré á ellos por Dios; porque se volverán á mí de todo su corazón.
7 I will give them a heart to know me, that I am Yahweh. They will be my people, and I will be their God; for they will return to me with their whole heart.
8 Pero como los higos malos que no se pueden comer, así son aquellos de quienes Yavé dice: Así entregaré a Sedequías, rey de Judá, a sus magistrados y al resto de Jerusalén, los que queden en esta tierra y los que viven en la tierra de Egipto.
8 Y como los malos higos, que de malos no se pueden comer, así, ha dicho Jehová, daré á Sedechîas rey de Judá, y á sus príncipes, y al resto de Jerusalem que quedaron en esta tierra, y que moran en la tierra de Egipto.
8 “‘As the bad figs, which can’t be eaten, they are so bad,’ surely Yahweh says, ‘So I will give up Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his princes, and the remnant of Jerusalem who remain in this land, and those who dwell in the land of Egypt.
9 Los convertiré en terror para todos los reinos de la tierra, oprobio y mal ejemplo, insulto y maldición, en todos los lugares adonde los echaré.
9 Y darélos por escarnio, por mal á todos los reinos de la tierra: por infamia, y por ejemplo, y por refrán, y por maldición á todos los lugares adonde yo los arrojaré.
9 I will even give them up to be tossed back and forth among all the kingdoms of the earth for evil, to be a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in all places where I will drive them.
10 Enviaré la espada, el hambre y la pestilencia contra ellos hasta que sean exterminados de la tierra que les di a ellos y a sus antepasados.
10 Y enviaré sobre ellos espada, hambre, y pestilencia, hasta que sean acabados de sobre la tierra que les dí á ellos y á sus padres.
10 I will send the sword, the famine, and the pestilence among them, until they are consumed from off the land that I gave to them and to their fathers.’”
