1 “Be careful that you don’t do your charitable giving before men, to be seen by them, or else you have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.
2 οταν ουν ποιησ ελεημοσυνην μη σαλπισησ εμπροσθεν σου ωσπερ οι υποκριται ποιουσιν εν ταισ συναγωγαισ και εν ταισ ρυμαισ οπωσ δοξασθωσιν υπο των ανθρωπων αμην λεγω υμιν απεχουσιν τον μισθον αυτων 2 Cuando pues haces limosna, no hagas tocar trompeta delante de ti, como hacen los hipócritas en las sinagogas y en las plazas, para ser estimados de los hombres: de cierto os digo, que ya tienen su recompensa.
2 Therefore, when you do merciful deeds, don’t sound a trumpet before yourself, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may get glory from men. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward.
3 σου δε ποιουντοσ ελεημοσυνην μη γνωτω η αριστερα σου τι ποιει η δεξια σου 3 Mas cuando tú haces limosna, no sepa tu izquierda lo que hace tu derecha;
3 But when you do merciful deeds, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand does,
4 so that your merciful deeds may be in secret, then your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
5 και οταν προσευχη ουκ εση ωσπερ οι υποκριται οτι φιλουσιν εν ταισ συναγωγαισ και εν ταισ γωνιαισ των πλατειων εστωτεσ προσευχεσθαι οπωσ αν φανωσιν τοισ ανθρωποισ αμην λεγω υμιν οτι απεχουσιν τον μισθον αυτων 5 Y cuando oras, no seas como los hipócritas; porque ellos aman el orar en las sinagogas, y en los cantones de las calles en pie, para ser vistos de los hombres: de cierto os digo, que ya tienen su pago.
5 “When you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Most certainly, I tell you, they have received their reward.
6 But you, when you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
7 προσευχομενοι δε μη βαττολογησητε ωσπερ οι εθνικοι δοκουσιν γαρ οτι εν τη πολυλογια αυτων εισακουσθησονται 7 Y orando, no seáis prolijos, como los Gentiles; que piensan que por su parlería serán oídos.
7 In praying, don’t use vain repetitions as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking.
8 μη ουν ομοιωθητε αυτοισ οιδεν γαρ ο πατηρ υμων ων χρειαν εχετε προ του υμασ αιτησαι αυτον 8 No os hagáis, pues, semejantes á ellos; porque vuestro Padre sabe de qué cosas tenéis necesidad, antes que vosotros le pidáis.
8 Therefore don’t be like them, for your Father knows what things you need before you ask him.
9 Pray like this: “‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.
10 Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.
13◆ και μη εισενεγκησ ημασ εισ πειρασμον αλλα ρυσαι ημασ απο του πονηρου οτι σου εστιν η βασιλεια και η δυναμισ και η δοξα εισ τουσ αιωνασ αμην 13 Y no nos metas en tentación, mas líbranos del mal: porque tuyo es el reino, y el poder, y la gloria, por todos los siglos. Amén.
13 Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.’
14 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
15 εαν δε μη αφητε τοισ ανθρωποισ τα παραπτωματα αυτων ουδε ο πατηρ υμων αφησει τα παραπτωματα υμων 15 Mas si no perdonareis á los hombres sus ofensas, tampoco vuestro Padre os perdonará vuestras ofensas.
15 But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
16 οταν δε νηστευητε μη γινεσθε ωσπερ οι υποκριται σκυθρωποι αφανιζουσιν γαρ τα προσωπα αυτων οπωσ φανωσιν τοισ ανθρωποισ νηστευοντεσ αμην λεγω υμιν οτι απεχουσιν τον μισθον αυτων 16 Y cuando ayunáis, no seáis como los hipócritas, austeros; porque ellos demudan sus rostros para parecer á los hombres que ayunan: de cierto os digo, que ya tienen su pago.
16 “Moreover when you fast, don’t be like the hypocrites, with sad faces. For they disfigure their faces that they may be seen by men to be fasting. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward.
17 συ δε νηστευων αλειψαι σου την κεφαλην και το προσωπον σου νιψαι 17 Mas tú, cuando ayunas, unge tu cabeza y lava tu rostro;
17 But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,
18 οπωσ μη φανησ τοισ ανθρωποισ νηστευων αλλα τω πατρι σου τω εν τω κρυπτω και ο πατηρ σου ο βλεπων εν τω κρυπτω αποδωσει σοι 18 Para no parecer á los hombres que ayunas, sino á tu Padre que está en secreto: y tu Padre que ve en secreto, te recompensará en público.
18 so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.
19 μη θησαυριζετε υμιν θησαυρουσ επι τησ γησ οπου σησ και βρωσισ αφανιζει και οπου κλεπται διορυσσουσιν και κλεπτουσιν 19 No os hagáis tesoros en la tierra, donde la polilla y el orín corrompe, y donde ladrones minan y hurtan;
19 “Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal;
20 θησαυριζετε δε υμιν θησαυρουσ εν ουρανω οπου ουτε σησ ουτε βρωσισ αφανιζει και οπου κλεπται ου διορυσσουσιν ουδε κλεπτουσιν 20 Mas haceos tesoros en el cielo, donde ni polilla ni orín corrompe, y donde ladrones no minan ni hurtan:
20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal;
21 for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
22 “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is sound, your whole body will be full of light.
23 But if your eye is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!
24 ουδεισ δυναται δυσιν κυριοισ δουλευειν η γαρ τον ενα μισησει και τον ετερον αγαπησει η ενοσ ανθεξεται και του ετερου καταφρονησει ου δυνασθε θεω δουλευειν και μαμωνα 24 Ninguno puede servir á dos señores; porque ó aborrecerá al uno y amará al otro, ó se llegará al uno y menospreciará al otro: no podéis servir á Dios y á Mammón.
24 “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can’t serve both God and Mammon.
25 δια τουτο λεγω υμιν μη μεριμνατε τη ψυχη υμων τι φαγητε και τι πιητε μηδε τω σωματι υμων τι ενδυσησθε ουχι η ψυχη πλειον εστιν τησ τροφησ και το σωμα του ενδυματοσ 25 Por tanto os digo: No os congojéis por vuestra vida, qué habéis de comer, ó qué habéis de beber; ni por vuestro cuerpo, qué habéis de vestir: ¿no es la vida más que el alimento, y el cuerpo que el vestido?
25 Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
26 εμβλεψατε εισ τα πετεινα του ουρανου οτι ου σπειρουσιν ουδε θεριζουσιν ουδε συναγουσιν εισ αποθηκασ και ο πατηρ υμων ο ουρανιοσ τρεφει αυτα ουχ υμεισ μαλλον διαφερετε αυτων 26 Mirad las aves del cielo, que no siembran, ni siegan, ni allegan en alfolíes; y vuestro Padre celestial las alimenta. ¿No sois vosotros mucho mejores que ellas?
26 See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?
27 “Which of you by being anxious, can add one moment to his lifespan?
28 και περι ενδυματοσ τι μεριμνατε καταμαθετε τα κρινα του αγρου πωσ αυξανει ου κοπια ουδε νηθει 28 Y por el vestido ¿por qué os congojáis? Reparad los lirios del campo, cómo crecen; no trabajan ni hilan;
28 Why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They don’t toil, neither do they spin,
29 yet I tell you that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these.
30 ει δε τον χορτον του αγρου σημερον οντα και αυριον εισ κλιβανον βαλλομενον ο θεοσ ουτωσ αμφιεννυσιν ου πολλω μαλλον υμασ ολιγοπιστοι 30 Y si la hierba del campo que hoy es, y mañana es echada en el horno, Dios [la] viste así, ¿no [hará] mucho más á vosotros, [hombres] de poca fe?
30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won’t he much more clothe you, you of little faith?
31 μη ουν μεριμνησητε λεγοντεσ τι φαγωμεν η τι πιωμεν η τι περιβαλωμεθα 31 No os congojéis pues, diciendo: ¿Qué comeremos, ó qué beberemos, ó con qué nos cubriremos?
31 “Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’
32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
33 But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.
34 μη ουν μεριμνησητε εισ την αυριον η γαρ αυριον μεριμνησει τα εαυτησ αρκετον τη ημερα η κακια αυτησ 34 Así que, no os congojéis por el día de mañana; que el día de mañana traerá su fatiga: basta al día su afán.
34 Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient.
