ULB Unlocked Literal Bible WEB World English Bible (Classic, with Deuterocanon) 1 In the third month after the people of Israel had gone out from the land of Egypt, on the same day, they came to the wilderness of Sinai.
1 In the third month after the children of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, on that same day they came into the wilderness of Sinai.
2 After they left Rephidim and came to the wilderness of Sinai, they camped in the wilderness in front of the mountain.
2 When they had departed from Rephidim, and had come to the wilderness of Sinai, they encamped in the wilderness; and there Israel encamped before the mountain.
3 Moses went up to God. Yahweh called to him from the mountain and said, “You must tell the house of Jacob, the people of Israel: 3 Y Moisés subió á Dios; y Jehová lo llamó desde el monte, diciendo: Así dirás á la casa de Jacob, y denunciarás á los hijos de Israel:
3 Moses went up to God, and Yahweh called to him out of the mountain, saying, “This is what you shall tell the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel:
4 You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, how I carried you on eagles' wings and brought you to myself.
4 ‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings, and brought you to myself.
5 Now then, if you obediently listen to my voice and keep my covenant, then you will be my special possession from among all peoples, for all the earth is mine.
5 Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, then you shall be my own possession from among all peoples; for all the earth is mine;
6 You will be a kingdom of priests and a holy nation for me. These are the words that you must speak to the people of Israel.” 6 Y vosotros seréis mi reino de sacerdotes, y gente santa.
6 and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.”
7 So Moses came and summoned the elders of the people. He set before them all these words that Yahweh had commanded him.
7 Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and set before them all these words which Yahweh commanded him.
8 All the people answered together and said, “We will do everything that Yahweh has said.” Then Moses came to report the people's words to Yahweh.
8 All the people answered together, and said, “All that Yahweh has spoken we will do.” Moses reported the words of the people to Yahweh.
9 Yahweh said to Moses, “I will come to you in a thick cloud so that the people may hear when I speak with you and may also believe you forever.” Then Moses told the people's words to Yahweh.
9 Yahweh said to Moses, “Behold, I come to you in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and may also believe you forever.” Moses told the words of the people to Yahweh.
10 Yahweh said to Moses, “Go to the people. Today and tomorrow you must set them apart to me, and make them wash their garments. 10 Y Jehová dijo á Moisés: Ve al pueblo, y santifícalos hoy y mañana, y laven sus vestidos;
10 Yahweh said to Moses, “Go to the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their garments,
11 Be ready for the third day, for on the third day Yahweh will come down to Mount Sinai.
11 and be ready for the third day; for on the third day Yahweh will come down in the sight of all the people on Mount Sinai.
12 You must set boundaries all around the mountain for the people. Say to them, 'Be careful that you do not go up the mountain or touch its border. Whoever touches the mountain will surely be put to death.' 12 Y señalarás término al pueblo en derredor, diciendo: Guardaos, no subáis al monte, ni toquéis á su término: cualquiera que tocare el monte, de seguro morirá:
12 You shall set bounds to the people all around, saying, ‘Be careful that you don’t go up onto the mountain, or touch its border. Whoever touches the mountain shall be surely put to death.
13 No one's hand must touch such a person. Instead, he must certainly be stoned or shot. Whether it is a person or an animal, he must be put to death. When the trumpet sounds a long blast, they may come up to the foot of the mountain.” 13 No le tocará mano, mas será apedreado ó asaeteado; sea animal ó sea hombre, no vivirá.
13 No hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned or shot through; whether it is animal or man, he shall not live.’ When the trumpet sounds long, they shall come up to the mountain.”
14 Then Moses went down from the mountain to the people. He set apart the people to Yahweh and they washed their garments.
14 Moses went down from the mountain to the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes.
15 He said to the people, “Be ready on the third day; do not go near your wives.” 15 Y dijo al pueblo: Estad apercibidos para el tercer día; no lleguéis á mujer.
15 He said to the people, “Be ready by the third day. Don’t have sexual relations with a woman.”
16 On the third day, when it was morning, there were thunder and lightning bolts and a thick cloud on the mountain, and the sound of a very loud trumpet. All the people in the camp trembled.
16 On the third day, when it was morning, there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain, and the sound of an exceedingly loud trumpet; and all the people who were in the camp trembled.
17 Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain.
17 Moses led the people out of the camp to meet God; and they stood at the lower part of the mountain.
18 Mount Sinai was completely covered with smoke because Yahweh descended on it in fire and smoke. The smoke went up like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain shook violently.
18 All of Mount Sinai smoked, because Yahweh descended on it in fire; and its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly.
19 When the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him in a voice.
19 When the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by a voice.
20 Yahweh came down on Mount Sinai, to the top of the mountain, and he summoned Moses to the top.
20 Yahweh came down on Mount Sinai, to the top of the mountain. Yahweh called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.
21 Yahweh said to Moses, “Go down and warn the people not to break through to me to look, or many of them will perish. 21 Y Jehová dijo á Moisés: Desciende, requiere al pueblo que no traspasen el término por ver á Jehová, porque caerá multitud de ellos.
21 Yahweh said to Moses, “Go down, warn the people, lest they break through to Yahweh to gaze, and many of them perish.
22 Let the priests also who come near to me set themselves apart—prepare themselves for my coming—so that I do not attack them.” 22 Y también los sacerdotes que se llegan á Jehová, se santifiquen, porque Jehová no haga en ellos estrago.
22 Let the priests also, who come near to Yahweh, sanctify themselves, lest Yahweh break out on them.”
23 Moses said to Yahweh, “The people cannot come up to Mount Sinai, for you commanded us: 'Set boundaries around the mountain and set it apart to Yahweh.'” 23 Y Moisés dijo á Jehová: El pueblo no podrá subir al monte de Sinaí, porque tú nos has requerido diciendo: Señala términos al monte, y santifícalo.
23 Moses said to Yahweh, “The people can’t come up to Mount Sinai, for you warned us, saying, ‘Set bounds around the mountain, and sanctify it.’”
24 Yahweh said to him, “Go, get down the mountain, and bring up Aaron with you, but do not let the priests and the people break through the barrier to come up to me, or I will attack them.” 24 Y Jehová le dijo: Ve, desciende, y subirás tú, y Aarón contigo: mas los sacerdotes y el pueblo no traspasen el término por subir á Jehová, porque no haga en ellos estrago.
24 Yahweh said to him, “Go down! You shall bring Aaron up with you, but don’t let the priests and the people break through to come up to Yahweh, lest he break out against them.”
25 So Moses went down to the people and spoke to them.
25 So Moses went down to the people, and told them.
