Día 9 · The Nativity Fast
A Prophet Like Moses (en inglés)
Por ahora, los textos de estas oraciones están en inglés. Solo publicamos en español las oraciones cuya traducción podemos verificar en una fuente ortodoxa publicada o en la Reina-Valera 1909.
“The LORD your God will raise up to you a prophet from amongst you, of your brothers, like me. You shall listen to him.”Deuteronomy 18:15
Reflexión (en inglés)
Moses promised Israel that God would raise up another prophet like him, and that they must listen to him. The apostles saw this fulfilled in Jesus (Acts 3:22). Moses gave the Law; Christ is the Lawgiver himself, come in the flesh. Moses saw God's glory from the cleft of a rock; in Christ, God's glory has a human face. Listening to him is the whole of the Christian life, and the Fast is a time to turn the noise down so that we can hear.
Una oración (en inglés)
Lord Jesus, Prophet greater than Moses, speak, for your servant is listening. Quiet the noise around me and within me. Give me ears to hear your words and a heart ready to obey them. Amen.
Llévalo contigo (en inglés)
What could you set aside today, even briefly, to listen more closely to Christ?
