Psalm 65 in DRB = Psalm 66 in RV1909.

DRB Douay-Rheims (Challoner), American Edition 1899
RV1909 Reina-Valera 1909
1 Unto the end, a canticle of a psalm of the resurrection. Shout with joy to God, all the earth,
2 Sing ye a psalm to his name; give glory to his praise.
3 Say unto God, How terrible are thy works, O Lord! in the multitude of thy strength thy enemies shall lie to thee.
4 Let all the earth adore thee, and sing to thee: let it sing a psalm to thy name.
66:4 Toda la tierra te adorará, y cantará á ti; cantarán á tu nombre. (Selah.)
5 Come and see the works of God; who is terrible in his counsels over the sons of men.
6 Who turneth the sea into dry land, in the river they shall pass on foot: there shall we rejoice in him.
7 Who by his power ruleth for ever: his eyes behold the nations; let not them that provoke him he exalted in themselves.
(Selah.)
8 O bless our God, ye Gentiles: and make the voice of his praise to be heard.
9 Who hath set my soul to live: and hath not suffered my feet to be moved:
10 For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us by fire, as silver is tried.
11 Thou hast brought us into a net, thou hast laid afflictions on our back:
12 Thou hast set men over our heads. We have passed through tire and water, and thou hast brought us out into a refreshment.
13 I will go into thy house with burnt offerings: I will pay thee my vows,
14 Which my lips have uttered, And my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble.
15 I will offer up to thee holocausts full of marrow, with burnt offerings of rams: I will offer to thee bullocks with goats.
(Selah.)
16 Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will tell you what great things he hath done for my soul.
17 I cried to him with my mouth: and I extolled him with my tongue.
66:17 A él clamé con mi boca, y ensalzado fué con mi lengua.
18 If I have looked at iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.
19 Therefore hath God heard me, and hath attended to the voice of my supplication.
20 Blessed be God, who hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.

What the Fathers said

Passages from the Church Fathers that expound or quote this chapter, verbatim from the public-domain Schaff edition (19th-century English translations). Verse numbers below follow the Hebrew/English numbering: 66.

How these were chosen

“Commentary” is the opening of a homily or exposition on this chapter (John Chrysostom’s homilies, Augustine’s tractates, sermons and expositions of the Psalms). “Quotes” are sentences where the edition’s own footnotes identify a quotation of a verse here, kept only when the wording matches the verse. Only works whose authorship is not in doubt are used. Psalms follow the Hebrew/English numbering (Augustine numbers them as the Septuagint does: his Psalm 50 is Psalm 51 here).

  1. Commentary Augustine of Hippo, Expositions on the Psalms (Psalm LXV)

The voice of holy prophecy must be confessed in the very title of this Psalm. It is inscribed, "Unto the end, a Psalm of David, a song of Jeremiah and Ezekiel, on account of the people of transmigration when they were beginning to go forth." How it fared with our fathers in the time of the transmigration to Babylon, is …

  2. Quotes verse 66:9 Augustine of Hippo, Sermons on Selected Lessons of the New Testament (Sermon XCV)

But there is a dangerous movement, of which it is written, "Suffer not my feet to be moved." But there is another movement of him who seeketh, knocketh, asketh.

  3. Quotes verse 66:10–12 Cyril of Jerusalem, Catechetical Lectures (Lecture XXIII)

Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and water; and thou broughtest us out into a place of rest.

  4. Quotes verse 66:13 Basil of Caesarea, On the Holy Spirit (Chapters XXV–XXVI)

This is the case where, as we have observed, it often stands instead of with; as for instance, "I will go into thy house in burnt offerings," instead of with burnt offerings and "he brought them forth also by silver and gold," that is to say with silver and gold and "thou goest not forth in our armies" instead of …
