“Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”Philippians 2:9-11
Reflexión (en inglés)
In the Bible, a name is more than a label; it stands for the person. To call on the name of Jesus is to call on Jesus himself, the eternal Son of God who became man for us. Peter told the council in Jerusalem, “There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given amongst men, by which we must be saved!” (Acts 4:12). That is why the Jesus Prayer begins with his name and titles. “Lord,” because he is God. “Jesus,” the name the angel gave, meaning “the Lord saves.” “Christ,” the Anointed One promised by the prophets. “Son of God,” because he shares the Father's own nature. Each word is a small confession of faith, and saying it slowly is already a kind of worship.
Una oración (en inglés)
Lord Jesus Christ, your name is above every name, and still you let me speak it. Keep me from saying it carelessly. Let each word of this prayer be a true confession: that you are Lord, that you save, that you are the Christ, the Son of God. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner. Amen.
