ULB Unlocked Literal Bible WEB World English Bible (Classic, with Deuterocanon) 1 Then he spoke a parable to them about how they should always pray and not become discouraged, 1 Y PROPÚSOLES también una parábola sobre que es necesario orar siempre, y no desmayar,
1 He also spoke a parable to them that they must always pray and not give up,
2 saying, “In a certain city there was a judge who did not fear God and did not respect people. 2 Diciendo: Había un juez en una ciudad, el cual ni temía á Dios, ni respetaba á hombre.
2 saying, “There was a judge in a certain city who didn’t fear God and didn’t respect man.
3 Now there was a widow in that city, and she came often to him, saying, 'Help me get justice against my opponent.' 3 Había también en aquella ciudad una viuda, la cual venía á él diciendo: Hazme justicia de mi adversario.
3 A widow was in that city, and she often came to him, saying, ‘Defend me from my adversary!’
4 For a long time he was not willing to help her, but after a while he said to himself, 'Though I do not fear God or respect man, 4 Pero él no quiso por algún tiempo; mas después de esto dijo dentro de sí: Aunque ni temo á Dios, ni tengo respeto á hombre,
4 He wouldn’t for a while; but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor respect man,
5 yet because this widow causes me trouble, I will help her get justice, so that she does not wear me out by her constant coming.'” 5 Todavía, porque esta viuda me es molesta, le haré justicia, porque al fin no venga y me muela.
5 yet because this widow bothers me, I will defend her, or else she will wear me out by her continual coming.’”
6 Then the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. 6 Y dijo el Señor: Oid lo que dice el juez injusto.
6 The Lord said, “Listen to what the unrighteous judge says.
7 Now will not God also bring justice to his chosen ones who cry out to him day and night? Will he delay long over them?
7 Won’t God avenge his chosen ones who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them?
8 I say to you that he will bring justice to them speedily. Even so, when the Son of Man comes, will he indeed find faith on the earth?” 8 Os digo que los defenderá presto.
8 I tell you that he will avenge them quickly. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
9 Then he also spoke this parable to some who were persuaded in themselves that they were righteous and who despised other people, 9 Y dijo también á unos que confiaban de sí como justos, y menospreciaban á los otros, esta parábola:
9 He also spoke this parable to certain people who were convinced of their own righteousness, and who despised all others:
10 “Two men went up into the temple to pray—the one was a Pharisee and the other was a tax collector. 10 Dos hombres subieron al templo á orar: el uno Fariseo, el otro publicano.
10 “Two men went up into the temple to pray; one was a Pharisee, and the other was a tax collector.
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed these things about himself, 'God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, unrighteous people, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. 11 El Fariseo, en pie, oraba consigo de esta manera: Dios, te doy gracias, que no soy como los otros hombres, ladrones, injustos, adúlteros, ni aun como este publicano;
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed by himself like this: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like the rest of men: extortionists, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.
12 I fast two times every week. I give tithes of all that I get.' 12 Ayuno dos veces á la semana, doy diezmos de todo lo que poseo.
12 I fast twice a week. I give tithes of all that I get.’
13 But the tax collector, standing at a distance, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but hit his breast, saying, 'God, have mercy on me, a sinner.' 13 Mas el publicano estando lejos no quería ni aun alzar los ojos al cielo, sino que hería su pecho, diciendo: Dios, sé propicio á mí pecador.
13 But the tax collector, standing far away, wouldn’t even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his chest, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’
14 I say to you, this man went back down to his house justified rather than the other, because everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but everyone who humbles himself will be exalted.” 14 Os digo que éste descendió á su casa justificado antes que el otro; porque cualquiera que se ensalza, será humillado; y el que se humilla, será ensalzado.
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
15 The people were also bringing to him their infants so that he might touch them, but when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them.
15 They were also bringing their babies to him, that he might touch them. But when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them.
16 But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Permit the little children to come to me, and do not forbid them. For the kingdom of God belongs to such ones. 16 Mas Jesús llamándolos, dijo: Dejad los niños venir á mí, y no los impidáis; porque de tales es el reino de Dios.
16 Jesus summoned them, saying, “Allow the little children to come to me, and don’t hinder them, for God’s Kingdom belongs to such as these.
17 Truly I say to you, whoever will not receive the kingdom of God like a child will definitely not enter it.” 17 De cierto os digo, que cualquiera que no recibiere el reino de Dios como un niño, no entrará en él.
17 Most certainly, I tell you, whoever doesn’t receive God’s Kingdom like a little child, he will in no way enter into it.”
18 A certain ruler asked him, saying, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” 18 Y preguntóle un príncipe, diciendo: Maestro bueno, ¿qué haré para poseer la vida eterna?
18 A certain ruler asked him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”
19 Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good, except God alone. 19 Y Jesús le dijo: ¿Por qué me llamas bueno? ninguno hay bueno sino sólo Dios.
19 Jesus asked him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good, except one: God.
20 You know the commandments—do not commit adultery, do not kill, do not steal, do not testify falsely, honor your father and mother.” 20 Los mandamientos sabes: No matarás: No adulterarás: No hurtarás: No dirás falso testimonio: Honra á tu padre y á tu madre.
20 You know the commandments: ‘Don’t commit adultery,’ ‘Don’t murder,’ ‘Don’t steal,’ ‘Don’t give false testimony,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’”
21 The ruler said, “All these things I have obeyed from the time I was a youth.” 21 Y él dijo: Todas estas cosas he guardado desde mi juventud.
21 He said, “I have observed all these things from my youth up.”
22 When Jesus heard that, he said to him, “One thing you still lack. You must sell all that you have and distribute it to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven—and come, follow me.” 22 Y Jesús, oído esto, le dijo: Aun te falta una cosa: vende todo lo que tienes, y da á los pobres, y tendrás tesoro en el cielo; y ven, sígueme.
22 When Jesus heard these things, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute it to the poor. Then you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.”
23 But when the ruler heard these things, he became extremely sad, for he was very rich.
23 But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was very rich.
24 Then Jesus, seeing him, became very sad and said, “How difficult it is for those who are rich to enter the kingdom of God! 24 Y viendo Jesús que se había entristecido mucho, dijo: ¡Cuán dificultosamente entrarán en el reino de Dios los que tienen riquezas!
24 Jesus, seeing that he became very sad, said, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter into God’s Kingdom!
25 For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.” 25 Porque más fácil cosa es entrar un camello por el ojo de una aguja, que un rico entrar en el reino de Dios.
25 For it is easier for a camel to enter in through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to enter into God’s Kingdom.”
26 Those hearing it said, “Then who can be saved?” 26 Y los que lo oían, dijeron: ¿Y quién podrá ser salvo?
26 Those who heard it said, “Then who can be saved?”
27 Jesus answered, “The things which are impossible with people are possible with God.” 27 Y él [les] dijo: Lo que es imposible para con los hombres, posible es para Dios.
27 But he said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”
28 Peter said, “Well, we have left everything that is our own and have followed you.” 28 Entonces Pedro dijo: He aquí, nosotros hemos dejado las posesiones nuestras, y te hemos seguido.
28 Peter said, “Look, we have left everything and followed you.”
29 Jesus then said to them, “Truly, I say to you that there is no one who has left house, or wife, or brothers, or parents, or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, 29 Y él les dijo: De cierto os digo, que nadie hay que haya dejado casa, padres, ó hermanos, ó mujer, ó hijos, por el reino de Dios,
29 He said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or wife, or brothers, or parents, or children, for God’s Kingdom’s sake,
30 who will not receive much more in this world, and in the world to come, eternal life.” 30 Que no haya de recibir mucho más en este tiempo, y en el siglo venidero la vida eterna.
30 who will not receive many times more in this time, and in the world to come, eternal life.”
31 After he gathered the twelve to himself, he said to them, “See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all the things that have been written by the prophets about the Son of Man will be accomplished. 31 Y Jesús, tomando á los doce, les dijo: He aquí subimos á Jerusalem, y serán cumplidas todas las cosas que fueron escritas por los profetas, del Hijo del hombre.
31 He took the twelve aside and said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all the things that are written through the prophets concerning the Son of Man will be completed.
32 For he will be given over to the Gentiles, and will be mocked, and shamefully treated, and spit upon.
32 For he will be delivered up to the Gentiles, will be mocked, treated shamefully, and spit on.
33 After whipping him, they will kill him, and on the third day he will rise again.” 33 Y después que le hubieren azotado, le matarán: mas al tercer día resucitará.
33 They will scourge and kill him. On the third day, he will rise again.”
34 They understood none of these things, and this word was hidden from them, and they did not understand the things that were said.
34 They understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them, and they didn’t understand the things that were said.
35 It came about that, as Jesus approached Jericho, a certain blind man was sitting by the road begging, 35 Y aconteció que acercándose él á Jericó, un ciego estaba sentado junto al camino mendigando;
35 As he came near Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the road, begging.
36 and hearing a crowd going by, he asked what was happening.
36 Hearing a multitude going by, he asked what this meant.
37 They told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. 37 Y dijéronle que pasaba Jesús Nazareno.
37 They told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by.
38 So the blind man cried out, saying, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me.” 38 Entonces dió voces, diciendo: Jesús, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí.
38 He cried out, “Jesus, you son of David, have mercy on me!”
39 The ones who were walking ahead rebuked the blind man, telling him to be quiet. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me.” 39 Y los que iban delante, le reñían que callase; mas él clamaba mucho más: Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí.
39 Those who led the way rebuked him, that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “You son of David, have mercy on me!”
40 Jesus stood still and commanded that the man be brought to him. Then when the blind man was near, Jesus asked him, 40 Jesús entonces parándose, mandó traerle á sí: y como él llegó, le preguntó,
40 Standing still, Jesus commanded him to be brought to him. When he had come near, he asked him,
41 “What do you want me to do for you?” He said, “Lord, I want to receive my sight.” 41 Diciendo: ¿Qué quieres que te haga? Y él dijo: Señor, que vea.
41 “What do you want me to do?” He said, “Lord, that I may see again.”
42 Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight. Your faith has healed you.” 42 Y Jesús le dijo: Ve, tu fe te ha hecho salvo.
42 Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight. Your faith has healed you.”
43 Immediately he received his sight and followed him, glorifying God. All the people, when they saw this, gave praise to God. 43 Y luego vió, y le seguía, glorificando á Dios: y todo el pueblo como lo vió, dió á Dios alabanza.
43 Immediately he received his sight and followed him, glorifying God. All the people, when they saw it, praised God.
