“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”1 John 1:9
Reflexión (en inglés)
The past keeps its power when it stays in the dark. Confession is simply bringing what we carry — our regrets, failures, the things we wish we could undo — honestly into God's light. He does not meet our honesty with condemnation but with faithful forgiveness and cleansing. Naming it to God is the first step from being haunted by the past to being freed from it. In the Orthodox Church we make this naming in the Mystery of Confession, standing before Christ with our priest as witness, and we hear the prayer of absolution.
Una oración (en inglés)
Father, there are things in my past I would rather keep hidden — regrets, failures, wounds I have caused or carried. Today I bring them honestly into Your light. Thank You that You meet my confession not with shame but with faithful forgiveness. Cleanse what is stained, forgive what I have done, and begin to free me from what has held me. Amen.
