This plan is a devotional aid to help you prepare your heart. It is meant to lead you to confession, made before God in the presence of your priest, and is not a replacement for that confession, for the counsel of a priest or trusted spiritual guide, or for professional care when you are carrying heavy burdens. If self-examination stirs up overwhelming shame or distress, please reach out to someone you trust. God meets the honest heart with gentleness, and those who walk alongside you can do the same.
