1 Смѣ́етъ ли кто̀ ѿ ва́съ, ве́щь и҆мѣ́ѧ ко и҆но́мꙋ, сꙋди́тисѧ ѿ непра́ведныхъ, а҆ не ѿ ст҃ы́хъ;
2 Не вѣ́сте ли, ꙗ҆́кѡ ст҃і́и мі́рови и҆́мꙋтъ сꙋди́ти; и҆ а҆́ще ва́ми сꙋ́дъ прїи́метъ мі́ръ, недосто́йни є҆стѐ сꙋди́щємъ хꙋды̑мъ;
3 Не вѣ́сте ли, ꙗ҆́кѡ а҆́ггелѡвъ сꙋди́ти и҆́мамы, а҆ не то́чїю жите́йскихъ;
5 Къ сра́мꙋ ва́мъ глаго́лю: та́кѡ ли нѣ́сть въ ва́съ мꙋ́дръ ни є҆ди́нъ, и҆́же мо́жетъ разсꙋди́ти междꙋ̀ бра́тїй свои́хъ;
5 Para avergonzaros lo digo. ¿Pues qué, no hay entre vosotros sabio, ni aun uno que pueda juzgar entre sus hermanos;
7 Оу҆жѐ ᲂу҆̀бо ѿню́дъ ва́мъ сра́мъ є҆́сть, ꙗ҆́кѡ тѧ̑жбы и҆́мате междꙋ̀ собо́ю. Почто̀ не па́че ѡ҆би́дими є҆стѐ; почто̀ не па́че лише́ни быва́ете;
19 И҆лѝ не вѣ́сте, ꙗ҆́кѡ тѣлеса̀ ва̑ша хра́мъ живꙋ́щагѡ въ ва́съ ст҃а́гѡ дх҃а сꙋ́ть, є҆го́же и҆́мате ѿ бг҃а, и҆ нѣ́сте своѝ;

What the Fathers said

Passages from the Church Fathers that expound or quote this chapter, verbatim from the public-domain Schaff edition (19th-century English translations).

How these were chosen

“Commentary” is the opening of a homily or exposition on this chapter (John Chrysostom’s homilies, Augustine’s tractates, sermons and expositions of the Psalms). “Quotes” are sentences where the edition’s own footnotes identify a quotation of a verse here, kept only when the wording matches the verse. Only works whose authorship is not in doubt are used. Psalms follow the Hebrew/English numbering (Augustine numbers them as the Septuagint does: his Psalm 50 is Psalm 51 here).
