3 Entonces dijo: ¿En qué pues sois bautizados?
15 Ѿвѣща́въ же дꙋ́хъ лꙋка́вый речѐ: і҆и҃са зна́ю и҆ па́ѵла свѣ́мъ, вы́ же кто̀ є҆стѐ;
24 Porque un platero llamado Demetrio, el cual hacía de plata templecillos de Diana, daba á los artífices no poca ganancia;
25 A los cuales, reunidos con los oficiales de semejante oficio, dijo: Varones, sabéis que de este oficio tenemos ganancia;
35 Оу҆ти́шивъ же кни́жникъ наро́дъ, речѐ: мꙋ́жїе є҆фе́сстїи, кто́ бо є҆́сть человѣ́къ, и҆́же не вѣ́сть, ꙗ҆́кѡ є҆фе́сскїй гра́дъ слꙋжи́тель є҆́сть вели́кїѧ боги́ни а҆ртемі́ды и҆ дїопе́та;
36 [Así que], pues esto no puede ser contradicho, conviene que os apacigüéis, y que nada hagáis temerariamente;
41 Not in this translation

What the Fathers said

Passages from the Church Fathers that expound or quote this chapter, verbatim from the public-domain Schaff edition (19th-century English translations).

How these were chosen

“Commentary” is the opening of a homily or exposition on this chapter (John Chrysostom’s homilies, Augustine’s tractates, sermons and expositions of the Psalms). “Quotes” are sentences where the edition’s own footnotes identify a quotation of a verse here, kept only when the wording matches the verse. Only works whose authorship is not in doubt are used. Psalms follow the Hebrew/English numbering (Augustine numbers them as the Septuagint does: his Psalm 50 is Psalm 51 here).

(c) He wished to separate the disciples thence, and to have the beginning for ceasing to assemble with them, given by (the Jews) themselves.
