LSV Literal Standard Version WEB World English Bible (Classic, with Deuterocanon) 1 Do not let many be teachers, my brothers, having known that we will receive greater judgment, 1 HERMANOS míos, no os hagáis muchos maestros, sabiendo que recibiremos mayor condenación.
1 Let not many of you be teachers, my brothers, knowing that we will receive heavier judgment.
2 for we all make many stumbles; if anyone does not stumble in word, this one [is] a perfect man, able to also bridle the whole body; 2 Porque todos ofendemos en muchas cosas.
2 For we all stumble in many things. Anyone who doesn’t stumble in word is a perfect person, able to bridle the whole body also.
3 behold, the bits we put into the mouths of the horses for their obeying us, and we direct their whole body; 3 He aquí nosotros ponemos frenos en las bocas de los caballos para que nos obedezcan, y gobernamos todo su cuerpo.
3 Indeed, we put bits into the horses’ mouths so that they may obey us, and we guide their whole body.
4 behold, also the ships, being so great, and being driven by fierce winds, are directed by a very small rudder, wherever the impulse of the [one] steering wills, 4 Mirad también las naves: aunque tan grandes, y llevadas de impetuosos vientos, son gobernadas con un muy pequeño timón por donde quisiere el que las gobierna.
4 Behold, the ships also, though they are so big and are driven by fierce winds, are yet guided by a very small rudder, wherever the pilot desires.
5 so also the tongue is a little member, and boasts greatly; behold, how much forest a little fire kindles! He aquí, un pequeño fuego ¡cuán grande bosque enciende!
5 So the tongue is also a little member, and boasts great things. See how a small fire can spread to a large forest!
6 And the tongue [is] a fire, the world of the unrighteousness, so the tongue is set in our members, which is spotting our whole body, and is setting on fire the course of nature, and is set on fire by Gehenna.
6 And the tongue is a fire. The world of iniquity among our members is the tongue, which defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature, and is set on fire by Gehenna.
7 For every nature, both of beasts and of birds, both of creeping things and things of the sea, is subdued, and has been subdued, by the human nature, 7 Porque toda naturaleza de bestias, y de aves, y de serpientes, y de seres de la mar, se doma y es domada de la naturaleza humana:
7 For every kind of animal, bird, creeping thing, and sea creature is tamed, and has been tamed by mankind;
8 but no one of men is able to subdue the tongue—[it is] an unruly evil, full of deadly poison; 8 Pero ningún hombre puede domar la lengua, [que es] un mal que no puede ser refrenado; llena de veneno mortal.
8 but nobody can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
9 with it we bless the God and Father, and with it we curse the men made according to [the] likeness of God; 9 Con ella bendecimos al Dios y Padre, y con ella maldecimos á los hombres, los cuales son hechos á la semejanza de Dios.
9 With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men who are made in the image of God.
10 out of the same mouth comes forth blessing and cursing; it does not need, my brothers, these things to so happen; 10 De una misma boca proceden bendición y maldición.
10 Out of the same mouth comes blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.
11 does the fountain out of the same opening pour forth the sweet and the bitter?
11 Does a spring send out from the same opening fresh and bitter water?
12 Is a fig tree able, my brothers, to make olives? Or a vine figs? Neither is salty [water able] to have made sweet water.
12 Can a fig tree, my brothers, yield olives, or a vine figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh water.
13 Who [is] wise and intelligent among you? Let him show his works out of good behavior in meekness of wisdom, 13 ¿Quién es sabio y avisado entre vosotros? muestre por buena conversación sus obras en mansedumbre de sabiduría.
13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by his good conduct that his deeds are done in gentleness of wisdom.
14 yet, if you have bitter zeal, and rivalry in your heart, do not glory, nor lie against the truth; 14 Pero si tenéis envidia amarga y contención en vuestros corazones, no os gloriéis, ni seáis mentirosos contra la verdad:
14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, don’t boast and don’t lie against the truth.
15 this wisdom is not descending from above, but earthly, physical, demon-like, 15 Que esta sabiduría no es la que desciende de lo alto, sino terrena, animal, diabólica.
15 This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, and demonic.
16 for where zeal and rivalry [are], there is insurrection and every evil matter; 16 Porque donde hay envidia y contención, allí hay perturbación y toda obra perversa.
16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed.
17 but the wisdom from above, first, indeed, is pure, then peaceable, gentle, well-convinced, full of kindness and good fruits, uncontentious, and unhypocritical— 17 Mas la sabiduría que es de lo alto, primeramente es pura, después pacífica, modesta, benigna, llena de misericordia y de buenos frutos, no juzgadora, no fingida.
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
18 and the fruit of righteousness in peace is sown to those making peace.
18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
