1 Anđelu efeske crkve napiši: Tako govori Onaj što drži sedam zvezda u desnici svojoj, i što hodi posred sedam svećnjaka zlatnih:
1 ESCRIBE al ángel de la iglesia en EFESO: El que tiene las siete estrellas en su diestra, el cual anda en medio de los siete candeleros de oro, dice estas cosas:
1 “To the angel of the assembly in Ephesus write: “He who holds the seven stars in his right hand, he who walks among the seven golden lamp stands says these things:
2 Znam tvoja dela, i trud tvoj, i trpljenje tvoje, i da ne možeš snositi zle, i iskušao si one koji govore da su apostoli, a nisu i našao si ih lažne;
2 Yo sé tus obras, y tu trabajo y paciencia; y que tú no puedes sufrir los malos, y has probado á los que se dicen ser apóstoles, y no lo son, y los has hallado mentirosos;
2 “I know your works, and your toil and perseverance, and that you can’t tolerate evil men, and have tested those who call themselves apostles, and they are not, and found them false.
3 i podneo si mnogo, i trpljenje imaš, i za ime moje trudio si se, i nisi sustao.
3 Y has sufrido, y has tenido paciencia, y has trabajado por mi nombre, y no has desfallecido.
3 You have perseverance and have endured for my name’s sake, and have not grown weary.
4 No imam na tebe, što si ljubav svoju prvu ostavio.
4 Pero tengo contra ti que has dejado tu primer amor.
4 But I have this against you, that you left your first love.
5 Opomeni se dakle otkuda si spao, i pokaj se, i prva dela čini; ako li ne, doći ću ti skoro, i dignuću svećnjak tvoj s mesta njegovog, ako se ne pokaješ.
5 Recuerda por tanto de dónde has caído, y arrepiéntete, y haz las primeras obras; pues si no, vendré presto á ti, y quitaré tu candelero de su lugar, si no te hubieres arrepentido.
5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen, and repent and do the first works; or else I am coming to you swiftly, and will move your lamp stand out of its place, unless you repent.
6 No ovo imaš što mrziš na dela Nikolinaca, na koja i ja mrzim.
6 Mas tienes esto, que aborreces los hechos de los Nicolaítas; los cuales yo también aborrezco.
6 But this you have, that you hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
7 Ko ima uho neka čuje šta govori Duh crkvama: koji pobedi daću mu da jede od drveta životnog koje je nasred raja Božijeg.
7 El que tiene oído, oiga lo que el Espíritu dice á las iglesias. Al que venciere, daré á comer del árbol de la vida, el cual está en medio del paraíso de Dios.
7 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of my God.
8 I anđelu crkve smiranske napiši: Tako govori Prvi i Poslednji, koji beše mrtav, i evo je živ:
8 Y escribe al ángel de la iglesia en SMIRNA: El primero y postrero, que fué muerto, y vivió, dice estas cosas:
8 “To the angel of the assembly in Smyrna write: “The first and the last, who was dead, and has come to life says these things:
9 Znam tvoja dela, i nevolju i siromaštvo (ali si bogat), i hule onih koji govore da su Jevreji a nisu, nego zbornica sotonina.
9 Yo sé tus obras, y tu tribulación, y tu pobreza (pero [tú] eres rico), y la blasfemia de los que se dicen ser Judíos, y no lo son, mas [son] sinagoga de Satanás.
9 “I know your works, oppression, and your poverty (but you are rich), and the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews, and they are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.
10 Ne boj se ni oda šta što ćeš postradati. Gle, đavo će neke od vas metati u tamnicu, da se iskušate, i imaćete nevolju do deset dana. Budi veran do same smrti, i daću ti venac života.
10 No tengas ningún temor de las cosas que has de padecer. He aquí, el diablo ha de enviar algunos de vosotros á la cárcel, para que seáis probados, y tendréis tribulación de diez días. Sé fiel hasta la muerte, y yo te daré la corona de la vida.
10 Don’t be afraid of the things which you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested; and you will have oppression for ten days. Be faithful to death, and I will give you the crown of life.
11 Ko ima uho da čuje neka čuje šta govori Duh crkvama: Koji pobedi neće mu nauditi druga smrt.
11 El que tiene oído, oiga lo que el Espíritu dice á las iglesias. El que venciere, no recibirá daño de la muerte segunda.
11 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. He who overcomes won’t be harmed by the second death.
12 I anđelu pergamske crkve napiši: Tako govori Onaj što ima mač oštar s obe strane:
12 Y escribe al ángel de la iglesia en PÉRGAMO: El que tiene la espada aguda de dos filos, dice estas cosas:
12 “To the angel of the assembly in Pergamum write: “He who has the sharp two-edged sword says these things:
13 Znam dela tvoja, i gde živiš, gde je presto sotonin; i držiš ime moje, i nisi se odrekao vere moje i u one dane u koje je Antipa, verni svedok moj, ubijen kod vas, gde živi sotona.
13 Yo sé tus obras, y dónde moras, donde está la silla de Satanás; y retienes mi nombre, y no has negado mi fe, aun en los días en que fué Antipas mi testigo fiel, el cual ha sido muerto entre vosotros, donde Satanás mora.
13 “I know your works and where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. You hold firmly to my name, and didn’t deny my faith in the days of Antipas my witness, my faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.
14 No imam na tebe malo, što imaš tu koji drže nauku Valama, koji učaše Valaka da položi sablazan pred sinovima Izrailjevim, da jedu žrtve idolske, i da se kurvaju.
14 Pero tengo unas pocas cosas contra ti: porque tú tienes ahí los que tienen la doctrina de Balaam, el cual enseñaba á Balac á poner escándalo delante de los hijos de Israel, á comer de cosas sacrificadas á los ídolos, y á cometer fornicación.
14 But I have a few things against you, because you have there some who hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to throw a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality.
15 Tako imaš i ti koji drže nauku Nikolinaca, na koju ja mrzim.
15 Así también tú tienes á los que tienen la doctrina de los Nicolaítas, lo cual yo aborrezco.
15 So also you likewise have some who hold to the teaching of the Nicolaitans.
16 Pokaj se dakle; ako li ne, doći ću ti skoro, i vojevaću s njima mačem usta svojih.
16 Arrepiéntete, porque de otra manera vendré á ti presto, y pelearé contra ellos con la espada de mi boca.
16 Repent therefore, or else I am coming to you quickly and I will make war against them with the sword of my mouth.
17 Ko ima uho da čuje neka čuje šta govori Duh crkvama: koji pobedi daću mu da jede od mane sakrivene, i daću mu kamen beo, i na kamenu novo ime napisano, kog niko ne zna osim onog koji primi.
17 El que tiene oído, oiga lo que el Espíritu dice á las iglesias. Al que venciere, daré á comer del maná escondido, y le daré una piedrecita blanca, y en la piedrecita un nombre nuevo escrito, el cual ninguno conoce sino aquel que lo recibe.
17 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. To him who overcomes, to him I will give of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows but he who receives it.
18 I anđelu tijatirske crkve napiši: Tako govori Sin Božji, koji ima oči svoje kao plamen ognjeni, i noge Njegove kao bronza:
18 Y escribe al ángel de la iglesia en TIATIRA: El Hijo de Dios, que tiene sus ojos como llama de fuego, y sus pies semejantes al latón fino, dice estas cosas:
18 “To the angel of the assembly in Thyatira write: “The Son of God, who has his eyes like a flame of fire, and his feet are like burnished brass, says these things:
19 Znam tvoja dela, i ljubav, i službu, i veru, i trpljenje tvoje, i dela tvoja, i da poslednjih ima više od prvih;
19 Yo he conocido tus obras, y caridad, y servicio, y fe, y tu paciencia, y que tus obras postreras son más que las primeras.
19 “I know your works, your love, faith, service, patient endurance, and that your last works are more than the first.
20 no imam na tebe malo, što dopuštaš ženi Jezavelji, koja govori da je proročica, da uči i da vara sluge moje da čine preljubu i da jedu žrtvu idolsku.
20 Mas tengo unas pocas cosas contra ti: porque permites aquella mujer Jezabel (que se dice profetisa) enseñar, y engañar á mis siervos, á fornicar, y á comer cosas ofrecidas á los ídolos.
20 But I have this against you, that you tolerate your woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. She teaches and seduces my servants to commit sexual immorality and to eat things sacrificed to idols.
21 I dadoh joj vreme da se pokaje od kurvarstva svog, i ne pokaja se.
21 Y le he dado tiempo para que se arrepienta de la fornicación; y no se ha arrepentido.
21 I gave her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her sexual immorality.
22 Evo je ja mećem na odar, i one koji čine preljubu s njom u nevolju veliku, ako se ne pokaju od svojih dela.
22 He aquí, [yo] la echo en cama, y á los que adulteran con ella, en muy grande tribulación, si no se arrepintieren de sus obras:
22 Behold, I will throw her and those who commit adultery with her into a bed of great oppression, unless they repent of her works.
23 I decu njenu pobiću na mesto; i poznaće sve crkve da sam ja koji ispitujem srca i bubrege, i daću vam svakome po delima vašim:
23 Y mataré á sus hijos con muerte; y todas las iglesias sabrán que yo soy el que escudriño los riñones y los corazones: y daré á cada uno de vosotros según sus obras.
23 I will kill her children with Death, and all the assemblies will know that I am he who searches the minds and hearts. I will give to each one of you according to your deeds.
24 A vama govorim i ostalima koji su u Tijatiru koji nemaju nauke ove, i koji ne poznaju dubina sotoninih (kao što govore): neću metnuti na vas drugog bremena,
24 Pero yo digo á vosotros, y á los demás que estáis en Tiatira, cualesquiera que no tienen esta doctrina, y que no han conocido las profundidades de Satanás, como dicen: Yo no enviaré sobre vosotros otra carga.
24 But to you I say, to the rest who are in Thyatira—as many as don’t have this teaching, who don’t know what some call ‘the deep things of Satan’—to you I say, I am not putting any other burden on you.
25 osim koji imate, držite dokle dođem.
25 Empero la que tenéis, tenedla hasta que yo venga.
25 Nevertheless, hold that which you have firmly until I come.
26 I koji pobedi i održi dela moja do kraja, daću mu vlast nad neznabošcima;
26 Y al que hubiere vencido, y hubiere guardado mis obras hasta el fin, yo le daré potestad sobre las gentes;
26 He who overcomes, and he who keeps my works to the end, to him I will give authority over the nations.
27 i pašće ih gvozdenom palicom, i oni će se razdrobiti kao sudovi lončarski; kao i ja što primih od Oca svog;
27 Y las regirá con vara de hierro, y serán quebrantados como vaso de alfarero, como también yo he recibido de mi Padre:
27 He will rule them with a rod of iron, shattering them like clay pots, as I also have received of my Father;
28 i daću mu zvezdu danicu.
28 Y le daré la estrella de la mañana.
28 and I will give him the morning star.
29 Ko ima uho da čuje neka čuje šta govori Duh crkvama.
29 El que tiene oído, oiga lo que el Espíritu dice á las iglesias.

How these were chosen
“Commentary” is the opening of a homily or exposition on this chapter (John Chrysostom’s homilies, Augustine’s tractates, sermons and expositions of the Psalms). “Quotes” are sentences where the edition’s own footnotes identify a quotation of a verse here, kept only when the wording matches the verse. Only works whose authorship is not in doubt are used. Psalms follow the Hebrew/English numbering (Augustine numbers them as the Septuagint does: his Psalm 50 is Psalm 51 here).
