1 El Señor habló a Moisés en el desierto del Sinaí, en la Tienda de reunión, el primer día del segundo mes del segundo año después de que los israelitas salieron de Egipto. Le dijo:
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the Tent of Meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying,
2 «Hagan un censo de toda la comunidad de Israel por sus familias y por las casas de sus padres. Anoten por nombre a todos los varones,
2 “Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Israel, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, every male, one by one,
3 de veinte años o más, que puedan servir en el ejército de Israel. Tú y Aarón los contarán por sus grupos.
3 from twenty years old and upward, all who are able to go out to war in Israel. You and Aaron shall count them by their divisions.
4 Un hombre de cada tribu los ayudará. Cada uno será jefe de la casa de sus padres.
4 With you there shall be a man of every tribe, each one head of his fathers’ house.
5 Estos son los nombres de los hombres que los ayudarán: de Rubén, Elisur hijo de Sedeur;
5 These are the names of the men who shall stand with you: Of Reuben: Elizur the son of Shedeur.
6 de Simeón, Selumiel hijo de Zurisadai;
6 Of Simeon: Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.
7 de Judá, Naasón hijo de Aminadab;
7 Of Judah: Nahshon the son of Amminadab.
8 de Isacar, Natanael hijo de Zuar;
8 Of Issachar: Nethanel the son of Zuar.
9 de Zabulón, Eliab hijo de Helón;
9 Of Zebulun: Eliab the son of Helon.

16 Estos eran los hombres escogidos de la comunidad, jefes de las tribus de sus padres y jefes de los grupos de Israel.
16 These are those who were called of the congregation, the princes of the tribes of their fathers; they were the heads of the thousands of Israel.
17 Moisés y Aarón tomaron a estos hombres que habían sido nombrados
17 Moses and Aaron took these men who are mentioned by name.
18 y reunieron a toda la comunidad el primer día del segundo mes. El pueblo declaró su ascendencia por familias y por las casas de sus padres. Fueron registrados por nombre los varones de veinte años o más,
18 They assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month; and they declared their ancestry by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, one by one.
19 como el Señor había ordenado a Moisés. Así Moisés los contó en el desierto del Sinaí.
19 As Yahweh commanded Moses, so he counted them in the wilderness of Sinai.
20 De los descendientes de Rubén, primogénito de Israel, fueron registrados por nombre, según sus familias y las casas de sus padres, todos los varones de veinte años o más que podían servir en el ejército.
20 The children of Reuben, Israel’s firstborn, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, one by one, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:
21 De la tribu de Rubén fueron contados cuarenta y seis mil quinientos.
21 those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Reuben, were forty-six thousand five hundred.
22 De los descendientes de Simeón fueron registrados por nombre, según sus familias y las casas de sus padres, todos los varones de veinte años o más que podían servir en el ejército.
22 Of the children of Simeon, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, those who were counted of it, according to the number of the names, one by one, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:
23 De la tribu de Simeón fueron contados cincuenta y nueve mil trescientos.
23 those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Simeon, were fifty-nine thousand three hundred.
24 De los descendientes de Gad fueron registrados por nombre, según sus familias y las casas de sus padres, todos los varones de veinte años o más que podían servir en el ejército.
24 Of the children of Gad, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:
25 De la tribu de Gad fueron contados cuarenta y cinco mil seiscientos cincuenta.
25 those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Gad, were forty-five thousand six hundred fifty.
26 De los descendientes de Judá fueron registrados por nombre, según sus familias y las casas de sus padres, todos los varones de veinte años o más que podían servir en el ejército.
26 Of the children of Judah, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:
27 De la tribu de Judá fueron contados setenta y cuatro mil seiscientos.
27 those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Judah, were seventy-four thousand six hundred.
28 De los descendientes de Isacar fueron registrados por nombre, según sus familias y las casas de sus padres, todos los varones de veinte años o más que podían servir en el ejército.
28 Of the children of Issachar, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:

40 Of the children of Asher, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:

41 those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Asher, were forty-one thousand five hundred.
42 De los descendientes de Neftalí fueron registrados por nombre, según sus familias y las casas de sus padres, todos los varones de veinte años o más que podían servir en el ejército.
42 Of the children of Naphtali, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:
43 De la tribu de Neftalí fueron contados cincuenta y tres mil cuatrocientos.
43 those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Naphtali, were fifty-three thousand four hundred.
44 Estos fueron los hombres que Moisés y Aarón contaron con la ayuda de los doce jefes de Israel, uno por cada casa de sus padres.
44 These are those who were counted, whom Moses and Aaron counted, and the twelve men who were princes of Israel, each one for his fathers’ house.
45 Así fueron contados todos los israelitas de veinte años o más que podían servir en el ejército de Israel, según las casas de sus padres.
45 So all those who were counted of the children of Israel by their fathers’ houses, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war in Israel—
46 El total fue de seiscientos tres mil quinientos cincuenta.
46 all those who were counted were six hundred three thousand five hundred fifty.
47 Pero los levitas no fueron contados con ellos según la tribu de sus padres,
47 But the Levites after the tribe of their fathers were not counted among them.
48 porque el Señor había dicho a Moisés:
48 For Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
49 «No contarás a la tribu de Leví ni la incluirás en el censo de los demás israelitas.
49 “Only the tribe of Levi you shall not count, neither shall you take a census of them among the children of Israel;
50 Encarga a los levitas el cuidado del tabernáculo del testimonio, de todos sus objetos y de todo lo que le pertenece. Ellos transportarán el tabernáculo y todos sus objetos, lo cuidarán y acamparán a su alrededor.
50 but appoint the Levites over the Tabernacle of the Testimony, and over all its furnishings, and over all that belongs to it. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings; and they shall take care of it, and shall encamp around it.
51 Cuando el tabernáculo tenga que trasladarse, los levitas lo desmontarán; y cuando tenga que levantarse, ellos lo armarán. Cualquier persona no autorizada que se acerque será condenada a muerte.
51 When the tabernacle is to move, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle is to be set up, the Levites shall set it up. The stranger who comes near shall be put to death.
52 Los israelitas acamparán por grupos, cada uno en su campamento y bajo su propia bandera.
52 The children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp, and every man by his own standard, according to their divisions.
53 Pero los levitas acamparán alrededor del tabernáculo del testimonio, para que no venga la ira de Dios sobre la comunidad de Israel. Los levitas estarán encargados del cuidado del tabernáculo del testimonio».
53 But the Levites shall encamp around the Tabernacle of the Testimony, that there may be no wrath on the congregation of the children of Israel. The Levites shall be responsible for the Tabernacle of the Testimony.”
54 Los israelitas hicieron todo tal como el Señor había ordenado a Moisés.
54 Thus the children of Israel did. According to all that Yahweh commanded Moses, so they did.
